SENECA NIAGARA RESORT & CASINO LOOKING FOR NEXT BUFFALO IDOL Open auditions scheduled for November 4

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino and Kiss 98.5 are putting out the call

to let Western New York’s aspiring superstars shine.

The area’s premier entertainment resort and one of the region’s most popular radio stations

are partnering up to host this year’s Buffalo Idol singing competition, with open auditions

scheduled for Wednesday, November 4. Registration for the open auditions will take place

from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. outside the Bear’s Den Showroom at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino.

Contestants will then perform on the Bear’s Den stage, in the order in which they registered,

between 7:00-9:00 p.m. Each contestant will have one minute to perform for a selection

panel of Entercom radio personnel and Seneca Gaming Corporation personnel. Qualified

performers will be asked to come back to compete in one of five qualifying rounds, each with

a $500 prize, leading up to the final round on December 16, when the newest Buffalo Idol will

be crowned, earning a $3,000 grand prize and a possible option to perform live at Stir, Seneca

Niagara’s high-energy feature bar, within the next six months.

“We want to hear Western New York’s best voices and find the area’s next singing sensation,”

said Tonia Lewis, executive director of advertising & communications, Seneca Gaming

Corporation.

Contestants must be 21 years of age and a New York State resident, with valid photo

identification. Contestants arriving for the open audition must provide their own music or sing

a capella. All audition music must be presented in .wav or .mp3 format (at least 128kbps) on

a flash drive, or on a CD, and will be reviewed by Seneca Gaming personnel for contentment

and technical quality. No cell phones, iPods or cassettes will be allowed.

The qualifying rounds will be held at 7 p.m. on the following five Wednesdays (November 11-

December 9) at the Bear’s Den Showroom, when each qualifier will perform a three-minute

song. The winner of each qualifying round will win $500 and move on to the final round on

December 16. On that date, the five finalists will each perform a three-to-four-minute song

for the judges, with one contestant being chosen as the Buffalo Idol.
