Dr Selva Pankaj is a Chartered Management Accountant with an MBA and FRSA. He has enjoyed a career that has spanned two sectors, spending 15 years from 1994 to 2009 in the financial investment and merchant banking sector and from 2000 till the present day working in the education sector.

His career in the investment sector has involved work at a wide variety of firms, many of them high-profile, and global firms which include Pricoa, Rockspring, Fortress with a Joint Venture relationship with Goldman Sachs and Prudential Financial Inc amongst others.

In 2000, Selva launched Regent Group alongside his partner Mrs Pankaj and father Senior Selvanayagam and the group has both grown and greatly diversified in the past nineteen years.

Selva assumed responsibility as Principal and CEO of Regent College London at the beginning of AY 2019/20 with a clear mandate to build Regent College London into a private university in the UK. Selva has also assumed responsibility of the Head of Recruitment to oversee the growth and expansion of Regent College London.

Tharshiny Pankaj is a graduate of Brunel University where she studied Computer Sciences. In 1998 she took the post of ICT & Computing Teacher at a sixth form college. In 2000 she played a large part in the founding of Regent Independent College and has been deeply involved in the day to day running of the various businesses and been intrinsic in the growth of the Group.

Supports the Principal on operational matters;

Supports the MRA team. Alka joined Regent Group when the business was initially incorporated, in 2000. During her tenure she has delivered in a number of vital roles that have been key to the Group growing into the diversified organisation it is today. Alka has a special interest in client care. Alka uses her experience and passion for helping others in reaching their full potential, to offer valuable advice to team members. She supports the Principal on operational matters.

Caroline Shepheard, BA (Hons)

function as part of the Principal’s office. Caroline joined Regent Group in 2009 and works across a number of

Regent’s divisions. Previous to joining the organisation, she worked for a large and well-known department store, gaining significant retail and customer service experience, as well as undertaking other administrative posts whilst in pursuit of her studies.

• Academic planning, including ongoing review of the course portfolio and development of future provision;

• Develop and implement academic management systems to ensure consistent delivery across all provision;

• Operational management of the academic delivery across five campuses, including development of new campus provision;

• Responsible for the staff recruitment and retention strategy and the advancement of academic staff development to support and enhance the student experience;

• Implementation of an effective learning and teaching strategy.

Anna Howard, BA (Hons), MSc, FCCA, PgCHE, SFHEA, ,IEEP

Anna is a qualified Chartered Accountant who also specialises in enterprise education, having completed the International Entrepreneurship Educators Programme. Anna is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Before joining Regent, Anna held various academic posts at London South Bank University, most recently, as Associate Professor for Enterprise Education and Head of Division for Business and Enterprise. Anna is a published author and regularly presents and submits papers for academic and industry forums. In 2017, Anna was awarded a Rising Star award for her work in enhancing Education and Academia.

Develop and deliver a reliable, fair and inclusive admissions system;

Managing the applicant experience regarding admitting a prospective student from application submission up to the point of enrolment on a course through an application and selection process across all 5 campuses and all courses;

Responsibility for the elements of the process which make up an application pack (interviews, non standard admissions, UCAS and offers);

Management of the cross campus admissions team;

Oversight of our university partners acting as the main point of contact and negotiation;

Strategic development of our partner portfolio;

Strategic direction of RCL Marketing function: responsible for enabling the organisation to meet recruitment targets through direct marketing, overseeing communications and evolving brand identity.

Kylie has over 15 years’ experience working in the Higher Education sector, managing large change projects, developing high performing team and supporting business development and partnerships. In addition to managing teams, Kylie’s key strengths lie in bringing stakeholders together, managing negotiations and identifying and developing process improvements, whilst bringing her natural creativity to the table.

Develop and implement policies and procedures that enable high quality academic practice across five campuses and multiple validating partners;

Ensure institutional compliance with the UK Quality Code in all aspects of academic standards and quality;

Institutional lead regarding the Prevent Duty;

Provide strategic leadership, advice and expertise on all policies and procedures relating to the College’s academic standards and quality enhancement;

Lead, develop, and to take responsibility for the planning, preparation and co-ordination of the processes related to external review and audit, and act as the College’s main institutional and review facilitator with regard to external bodies.

She has extensive experience in policy development and institutional accreditation. Katie is a Fellow of the Association of University Administrators.

Vinod has worked in the Education sector for over 32 years and brings a diverse range of experience both with Home/EU and International students. Before joining Regent College, he held senior posts at LSC, Kaplan, FTC Financial Training Company, AT Accountancy Tutors and EW FACT. In the last 8 years he has worked with several Collaborative University partner institutions in setting up new campus ventures. His core values have been focused around the student journey and this key principle has helped deliver these successful projects.

compliance and reporting activities across Regent College London, ensuring institutional compliance with the Office for Students (OfS) conditions of registration. Lead student data governance and external reporting to government and related bodies;

Lead, develop and to take responsibility for the planning, preparation and co-ordination of high-quality and efficient Registry and Student Service procedures across the College;

She has an excellent track record of delivering effective HE administration and a proven ability to affect transformational change across a range of operational areas. An excellent communicator with outstanding stakeholder management skills, the ability to communicate and build rapport across all levels of organisations. She brings a fresh approach with the ability to translate adaptable expertise well to deliver innovative solutions. Alix holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a PG Cert in Human Resource Management, as well as a BA Honours degree in Contemporary Photographic Practice.

Jun has worked in numerous education establishments over the past fifteen years, where she has been responsible for the management of operations and maximising opportunities for provision. Jun has extensive experience of management and the compliance aspects of delivery and learner support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Make sure that Student Support services

provision is consistent across the campuses;

Promote support services and innovative approaches and strategies to promote self-care and positive mental health and wellbeing, organize training for students and staff, including training focusing on mental health awareness;

To ensure an effective ‘at risk’ referral system is in place so that the appropriate person helps students with actual or potential welfare issues, which are causing barriers to learning, in a timely manner;

To provide support, advice and guidance to students on a range of different issues including, welfare and personal matters, extenuating circumstances, suspensions, withdrawals etc;

To organise Student Representatives elections, arrange Student Representatives trainings and Student Representative Committee meetings, organize students’ feedback through various surveys (induction, module evaluation etc).

Tanya Tanna, BS

Tanya Tanna is the Student Support and Wellbeing Manager. She joined Regent College London in February 2019. Tanya is a believer in promoting a positive work environment and is passionate about raising mental health awareness among students and staff. She has more than 20 years’ experience of working in the Higher Education sector including a number of private colleges and universities, such as City University of London and University of Westminster. Tanya has a proven track record of successful project management including the initiation and implementation of Individual Support Action Plans for students with special personal circumstances and the mental health support project Mind Connect.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with other members of the senior

management team to set the strategic direction of the Human Resources activities and have overall responsibility for providing an effective HR strategy, with a focus on nurturing a positive and inclusive culture with strong support mechanisms for all employees across the group;

Overall responsibility for planning, managing, co-ordinating, monitoring and developing the provision of HR across the Group;

Develop and lead appropriate HR strategies, focusing on the recruitment, retention and performance of an appropriately skilled, competent, motivated and rewarded workforce;

Jaishree joined Regent Group in May 2019 having worked for the last 17 years in the FE Sector. During her time in FE she has seen a dramatic changes in the FE sector and has been involved a number of restructuring and reorganisations. She had responsibilities for safeguarding and recruitment. She has also worked in the NHS recruiting Medical Personnel and working as a Generalist.

Paras joined Regent Group in 2008 as a Finance Manager and since then she has managed all financial aspects of the Group’s businesses. She holds ACCA Part Qualification, an MBA in Finance and an Engineering degree and previously worked in the real estate sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Health & Safety compliance - all

electrical/Gas/PAT/ Risk Assessments are up to date;

Facilities - Cleaning, supply of heating / cooling / furniture /office space;

Maintenance & management - ensuring all works are carried out/survey of actual works. Planning works/making orders of materials and within costs;

SLA’s - ensuring that we are getting the best quotes for each planned works. Ensuring all engineers/contractors are completing works;

Contracts/renewal of lease/rents/business rates/ energy renewal/ Insurances- ensuring we are in line with market rates or below with the current capacity usage of classrooms/spaces;

Managing all estates including residential/commercials;

Servicing boilers- ensuring winter/summer modes;

Fire Safety - ensuring all fire extinguishers/Risk assessments are updated;

HVAC- ensuring all AC units are updated and serviced. Ventilators on sites are cleaned regularly;

Management of all Costs/budgets- reference checks on builders and works.

Harpal Degun, BA

Harpal has a BA Honours degree in Politics & Management and has spent 15 years working in Further Education as student services, Participation and Social services. In his career he has worked for Brixton College, Ealing Hammersmith West London College, and Ealing Council. He also has a postgraduate from Brunel university in Youth & Community services and is a Graduate in Chartered Senior Management level 5. His passion in construction led him to further enhance his career in Project management and design & Build services. He spent 10 years working for Ealing council developing Community buildings into state of the art Social services centres for young people and children. He is fully qualified in Site Management Training safety Scheme, IOSH. He has managed public and private sector portfolio commercial properties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and manage all activities within the

marketing department including course enquiries;

Develop and execute the marketing strategy in line with the strategic objectives - including marketing campaigns, events, digital marketing, social media and PR. Manage the marketing budget and monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communications;

Manage the creation and delivery of advertising, marketing, PR, direct marketing, email marketing, website content/development, newsletters and events from the initial concept to finished product;

Manage lead generation campaigns and generate quality leads that can be converted into applications;

Work closely with the campus operation leads and recruitment teams; enabling them to meet commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate marketing tools and collateral;

Keep website and marketing collateral up to date with accurate and timely information and ensure that they adhere to the brand guidelines.

Rasika Umamahesh, BSc, PG Diploma, MS

Rasika is an experienced marketing professional and joined Group in May 2015. In addition to the strategic marketing efforts, she directs branding, advertising, digital marketing, social media and website development efforts. She manages events, internal communications, PR, award entries and more. She holds a number of industry specific qualifications and has more than 18 years of experience (more than 13 of them being in the education marketing industry) in both domestic and international markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Production and approval of all technical

deliverables and achievement of technical milestones;

Research, adapt and prove concepts for new technologies; design and develop internal tools;

Liaise with infrastructure service providers to achieve frictionless implementation of new technologies and infrastructure changes;

Manage all IT vendor relationships, negotiated with and selected vendors for Telecommunications and Information Technology products, systems, and services. Manages vendor performance after implementation;

Build and maintain excellent relationships with vendors, suppliers and service providers including joined planning, and working in partnership to develop effective solutions;

Analyse critical support requirements, identify deficiencies and potential opportunities, and develop innovative solutions;

Problem solving at the escalation point of technical or other related issues.

Dragos Carlan, IT Manager [email protected]

Dragos joined Regent Group in October 2017. As the leading computing and systems specialist he is responsible for ensuring that Regent Group business and operations run smoothly on a day to day basis. Helping businesses maintain maximum uptime Dragos has provided first class IT support for hardware, software, and networking – including system upgrades, malware protection and removal, and the management of operating systems – across multiple industries in the UK, Italy, and Romania. Overseeing an IT team, he is also responsible for the cost effective design and implementation of system policies and procedures for Regent Group.

Sandeep joined Regent Group in June 2015 and has been working within the capacity of Business Development and Sales. Previous to joining Regent group, he has worked in FE sector and Recruitment (head hunting) as Business Manager. Sandeep has currently taken up the role of a Commercial Manager with Regent where he is tasked to contribute to the organisation’s growth plans by achieving commercial goals.

Roxana joined Regent in March 2016 and has been working across different campuses in Student Recruitment. She is very passionate about EU students and Home students being able to have the right information and access their preferred Higher Education Course and during her time at Regent she has developed recruitment processes to help create a better journey for prospective students. Roxana has recently taken up the role of Commercial Manager with Regent Group. She is fluent in two other languages; Romanian and Spanish.

Nirajh joined Regent Group in 2010 as Centre Manager of Regent Learning Centre (RLC) Harrow and helped grow the business to its maximum capacity before leaving the organisation in 2014 to follow his passion for recruitment. He worked in a number of organisations, successfully increasing their revenue and achieving his set targets, which included projects in the public sector. Nirajh re-joined Regent Group in 2017 as part of the Business Development & Sales team, predominately concentrating on pre-18 projects across Regent Group campuses. Currently Nirajh works as a Commercial Manager for the company, his primary objective is assisting the company to meet its strategic goals.

Noaman Islam, Commercial Manager and Campus Operational Lead – Southall Campus [email protected]

Noaman as the Campus Operational Lead and Commercial Manager runs the Southall campus in line with the organisation strategy and creates an effective localised delivery through the communication of clear business objectives, the implementation of effective business processes and a clear analysis of customer needs with overall accountability of campus functions. This includes working with other members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the smooth administration of staff in support of the service provided. Specifically this involves responsibility for the development of the student experience, client services, staff development, communication, buildings and facilities as well as having an oversight and management of commercial development.

Lead the delivery of university business programmes for Bucks New University partnership;

Lead all operations and teams on Kingsbury site and drive for stronger student engagement;

Plan the resource utilisation of the Kingsbury site in line with strong student experience and site management needs;

Plan and establish delivery models for each cohort of students with feedback and feedforward mechanisms to develop appropriate learning environment on all programmes.

Bushan Mohan, BA (Hons), Diploma, MSc, FHEA

Bushan has worked in the UK higher education industry for more than 7 years and has experience in managing university business programmes from level 3 to level 7. Bushan is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy with a strong academic track record attaining first-class and top student awards in all academic qualifications studied including an MSc from the University of Leicester. He is now currently engaged in doctoral research in Economics. At Regent College London, Bushan has the responsibility of leading all operations on the Kingsbury campus in which Buckinghamshire New University’s programmes are being delivered. He has successfully led the implementation of the programmes and managed the resources utilisation needs on the site, enabling strong academic outcomes. Bushan has contributed to the development of standardised practices across the campus by leading the academic, administrative and other operational teams, successfully.

Kashif has over 18 years of education management experience mainly in UK Higher Education and overseas. He has worked with various University partnerships within and outside UK and gained experience to manage university programmes and maintaining the programme delivery with professional integrity and ethics. Moreover, he worked as an External Qualification Reviewer for computing VQR qualifications for OTHM. He has also worked as Project Launch Coordinator for a renowned retailer and has successfully setup four new stores in the UK along with working on all aspects of change management.
