The Southern Lodging Summit @ Memphis

Wows’em Again! The 9th Southern Lodging Summit @ Memphis was a success!! If you missed it, go ahead and kick yourself. This program (co-hosted by

MMHLA and Pinkowski & Company) was informative with pertinent topics presented by the industry’s top professionals. Plan now to attend next year’s event. It will be our 10th and of course, we will plan bigger and better than ever!! If you were an attendee, please fill out the Summit Survey that will be emailed to you shortly. We really appreciate your time to complete the survey, and seriously consider all comments. I would like to take this time (space) to thank Peggy Callahan, our Executive Director, and Gloria McCollum of Pinkowski & Company for

their tireless efforts to coordinate and make this conference a reality. The Summit Committee met immediately following the closing of the Summit and critiqued this year’s program. A few suggestions already are being considered for next year. This will be the first of many meetings, and tireless hours of preparation for our next Summit. The following are members of the Summit Committee, and deserve a standing ovation for their participation, and most definitely a big thank you from me:

Marty BoscaccyWilliam Edmundson Glenn MaloneWayne TaborDoug Browne Anne-Marie FamaletteGloria McCollum Carrie TurnerPeggy CallahanTony Goebel

Please do not forget our Summit sponsors. Tell them thanks when you see them – and support them! And last but most certainly not least is you – the participant. Thank you for attending and/or sending someone. The Summit definitely takes a village to exist – sponsors, attendees, and com-mittee members. So thankya, thankya, thankyaverymuch!!I hope to see you at this month’s luncheon, 9/21/2011 @ the Downtown

Doubletree Hotel. September’s environmental program includes discus-sion/information on TN Green Hospitality Certification and on LEED Hotel Certification. If you haven’t made reservations, please call Peggy. A closing note” Memphis is your home – help make her everyone’s

pride. Be courteous. Extend the smile of hospitality to everyone you meet. Who knows: they may smile back! Till next month, same time, same place – smile!!
