PUMPKIN DAYS

TUESDAYS –SEPT 16th- OCT 15th

ARBOR GARDENS

The Economic Development Authority Board (EDA) constructed Arbor Gardens in 2003 and connues to oversee the Senior Living

campus. The EDA hires Tealwood to manage the facility. The EDA was approached by a non-profit organizaon to develop a new

senior care facility in Eyota. That inquiry led to the firm looking into the purchase of Arbor Gardens; resulng in several inquiries

from other for-profit and non-profit enes to manage and or purchase the facility.

In August 2019 the EDA held a public hearing to discuss potenally selling Arbor Gardens. As volunteers the EDA are not experts

in senior care which is changing and complicated. The board would like to explore the possibility of a management company that

would also like to own the senior campus. Potenally resulng in be1er markeng, addional income for operaons with experts

to operate, expand, and enhance community services.

The EDA and Council realize that aging in the same locaon is in the best interest of the residents. They would like the facility to

connuously improve knowing that one day they too will likely live at Arbor Gardens.

Below is some general history and facts:

~ The City approved a large bond to pay for the construcon, equipment and furnishings of Arbor Gardens, that bond is parally

paid off and Arbor Gardens proceeds are paid to the City to make annual bond payments

~ The EDA is the owner of the Arbor Gardens Senor Living property and building

~ As the management company Tealwood employs all the workers, not the city of Eyota

~ The EDA works with Tealwood to encourage equal pay for workers and fair residenal rental rates

~ The management company and the board have a common goal to keep Arbor Garden the City’s building well maintained

~ The EDA will connue to work with interested pares that would like to own, operate, and retain Arbor Gardens as a senior

living campus
