Theres nothing Sadie Reichgott loves more than making earrings.

She likes to bead and she makes these wonderful earrings that she is always giving away to her friends and family, said Sadies mom, Marcy.

Sadie celebrated her Bat Mitzvah on May 28 at Congregation Keneseth Israel. When it was time to discuss her mitzvah project, Marcy and Sadie pondered several options. Since it is something she loves to do, Sadie decided to make and sell earrings and donate the money she raises to Diakon Adoption and Foster Care, an agency dedicated to uniting waiting children with foster and adoptive families and bringing permanency to the lives of children in need. Diakon is special to Sadie because it is the agency that united Sadie and her parents when Sadie was just a baby.

Sadie, a seventh-grade student at Southern Lehigh Middle School who also loves to babysit and play softball, has a goal of raising $1,000 for Diakon. She will be selling her earrings at Q Mart on an upcoming Sunday in Quakertown, as well as at a craft show at her middle school and at Rices Market. If you would like to purchase earrings to help Sadie reach her goal, call Marcy at 610- 282-4344. The earrings are $10 per pair.

Sadie is also wonderful with children. She has always wanted to work with kids and thinks that when she grows up, she would like to be a day-care worker at the JCC of Allentown.

In addition to her mitzvah project, Sadie will make her first adult gift of tzedakah to the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley Annual Campaign for Jewish Needs.
