We had a great time of rest and being together. Daniel & Amy Roberts, from the Saturn Road Church of Christ, came and spoke to us about fear, and did a fantastic job! Here are a few stats from the weekend: 144 people, 2 nights, 4 meals, 82,689 mosquito bites, 17,863 laughs, countless games, 2 bonfires, 41 songs, and God's immeasurable transformation of our hearts. We learned this week that God is with us when we are anxious about something and that He has called us to lean into those things. Thanks to all who came with us! -Brian Plumb Children's Bible Hour & Worship Nurseries Creation Station, a Bible hour for children three years through kindergarten, meets in P100 during late service. Second Chances Thrift StoreI am so incredibly blessed to report that the Second Chances Thrift Store doors have now been open for 18 months! We are so thankful for all the many donations and support that MRCC has shown. Without your support we would not have been able to do it! My heart smiles every time one of our members makes the long drive out, calls for a pick-up, or simply just asks about our small ministry. There are so many people I would like to thank, but they simply won’t all fit.

There are many ways to contribute to Second Chances. We are looking for people who love to organize and aren’t afraid to get dirty! We are also looking for help with tagging, sorting, and putting away clothes. We need donations such as clean clothing, appliances large or small, furniture, and even things such as cleaning supplies.

Please continue to keep Second Chances in your prayers; and, if you're able to contribute in any way, visit secondchancesthrift.org to get involved or learn more. -Delisa Herbert

Heartbeat for Hope Dinner & Silent Auction: This Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m., Heartbeat for Hope will be celebrating 10 Years of partnership with Village of Hope with a dinner and silent auction! Education is of vital importance for the children of Ghana, providing a gateway out of destitution and slavery to an opportunity to become productive, influential citizens that can effect change. However, education in Ghana is not free. Help Heartbeat for Hope continue aiding this transformation! Visit heartbeatforhope.com to attend. If you are interested in an event sponsorship, please contact [email protected].

Youth & Family Ministry Evidences FairMost Sunday mornings during the school year our Youth & Family Ministry is split up into small groups called Discipleship Groups. The last few weeks, each group has been researching a different Christian Evidence. This morning during class, they are going to have an Evidence Fair and display their research. The groups are looking at different arguments for faith, the resurrection, how we got the Bible, and many more. It has been challenging, but has given us some new perspectives. This morning students will spend time at each booth trying to understand and see some of the evidences that God has given us. Our hope is that these evidences increase our faith in Jesus. We are so thankful for the D group leaders and our students who have poured a lot of time and energy into this.
