ART - CERAMICS MAD SCIENCE RAINBOW CHEFSENGINEERING FOR KIDSDuring this class, students will learn various methods of hand-building and sculpting with clay, different types of applications of glaze and the purpose of the kiln. Methods of decoration on projects include stamping, texturing and clay embossing. Students will take home finished projects at the end of the Session.

Become a Science Spy and learn how to send secret messages using special codes. Wrestle with the strength of air and experiment with invisible forces. Explore fascinating abilities of the human body and conduct experiments to discover how your heart and lungs work. Experiment with substances that create amazing reactions. You’ll even take home your own Mad Science Super Ball!

Rainbow Chefs offers students the opportunity to learn important life lessons through the Culinary Arts; which include nutrition, kitchen safety, culinary arts, meal planning, seasonal cooking, portion control, manners, etiquette and much more.

VIDEO GAME DESIGN: TOWER DEFENSEDuring the Electronic Game Design Tower Defense classes, students use Multimedia Fusion 2.5® to create their own video game. A tower defense game is where the programmer creates towers to defend a base which fires at passing enemies similar to Bloons Tower Defense. Students take home a playable copy of the game they create.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERINGDuring the Electrical Engineering classes, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine electronics and circuits. Students learn about circuit schematics and circuit theory. They experiment with Snap Circuits® to discover the capabilities of major electronic components. In addition, students build complex flashlights, motorcycle, speakers, and more!

VIDEO GAME DESIGN: PLATFORM GAMESDuring the Video Game Design: Platform Game Camp, students will use Multimedia Fusion 2.5® to create a video game. A platform game is a side-scrolling, Mario-type game where students program characters and a two-dimensional obstacle course. They attempt to avoid or overcome enemies and reach an end goal on multiple levels. Students take home a playable copy of the game they create.

International Master Larry Evans and staff teach chess in 33 schools throughout San Diego County. Beginners are welcome. Chess is a great workout for students to improve spatial reasoning, visual memory and attention span while learning good judgment, reasoning power and self-confidence. The program includes instruction, formal and casual play and a team event. Students receive prizes and trophies to reward participation.

BASKETBALLImprove your shooting, passing, catching and rebounding skills! Players will also learn ball handing, team concepts, shot selection, scoring and defensive tactics emphasize positioning and pressure from various areas of the court.

FLAG FOOTBALLLearn football basics through drills, obstacle courses and strength training with an emphasis on teamwork, increasing agility, speed and self-esteem. Intramural games will be played each class. No tackling, designed to accommodate all skill levels.

CHEERLearn all the cheer basics, such as cheer dances, chants, kicks and jumps At the end of the session they will cheer at a real game on the field! No uniform necessary.

SOCCERStudents will learn kicking, dribbling, goalkeeping, passing and ball control. The instructor teaches the individual skills and holds scrimmages where the kids put those skills to use. (Meet at Field)

TENNISFit Kids America is pleased to incorporate the USTA newly developed Quickstart program for learning tennis by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size.

DODGEBALLParticipants will be able to fine tune their catching and throwing abilities while increasing their reaction times. We play with foam balls, not the hard playground balls, to reduce the risk of injury.

LACROSSE Taught in a safe environment (no checking, pinky ball used). Lacrosse basics of ball handling, throwing and catching. Group will be split by age and ability. No equipment necessary.

VOLLEYBALLIntro to Volleyball class emphasizes the practicing of volleyball skills in order to improve each student’s skills. Blocking, hitting, setting, spiking are taught as well as basic offensive and defensive strategies. Students will participate in scrimmages according to class size.
