2019 AWARD RECIPIENTS

On January 24th, the Shafter Chamber of Commerce hosted their 71st Annual Awards Banquet and State of the City Address. A spectacular evening it was indeed, with community leaders, local and state politicians, event supporters, family and friends gathered to celebrate the honorees. This year’s event was held at the Shafter Ford Theater. The evening began with entertainment from an outstanding group of kids, Richland Jr. High Jazz Band directed by Guillermo Martinez. Past Chamber President Debbe Haley was MC of the night. Shafter Police Department Honor Guard posted colors. Distinguished Young Woman of Shafter Karly Cleveland graced us with her presence and leading the evening with our invocation and Chief Zimmermann led us with the pledge of allegiance. Mayor Gilbert Alvarado addressed the audience with an overview of change, Shafter’s three-legged stool of Economic Development, Public Safety, and Education.
