Jimerson, PhD is a Professor and Department Chair of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Jimerson is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and recognized by The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress as a Board Certified Expert and Diplomat, and is included in their international registry of Experts in Traumatic Stress with specialization in working with children, families, and schools. Dr. Jimerson is currently Editor of the School Psychology Quarterly journal (2012-2016), previous President of Division 16 (School Psychology) of the American Psychological Association (2011-2013), and President of the International School Psychology Association (2013-2018). His international professional and scholarly activities aim to advance and promote science, practice, and policy relevant to school psychology, in an effort to benefit children, families, and communities across the country and throughout the world. Dr. Jimerson has chaired and served on numerous boards and advisory committees at the state, national, and international levels, including; President-Elect of the International School Psychology Association (2013-2014), Chair of the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology (2013-), President of Division 16 (School Psychology) American Psychological Association (2010-2013), Vice President for Convention Affairs and Public Relations of Division 16 (School Psychology) American Psychological Association (2008-2010), Chair of the Research Committee of the International School Psychology Association (2000- present), Chair of the Division 16 (School Psychology) conference proceedings for the 2005 American Psychological Association conference, Chair of the 2005 Division 16 Lightner Witmer Award Committee, and Chair of the School Psychology Research Collaboration Conference (2003 and 2005). His service to Division 16 of the American Psychological Association resulted in him receiving Division 16 Outstanding Service Awards in 2005 and 2010 and 2013. In addition, Dr. Jimerson received the President’s Award of Excellence from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) in 2006 for his contributions to the PREPaRE school crisis prevention and intervention curriculum. He serves as Editor of School Psychology Quarterly and has served as the Editor of The California School Psychologist journal, as Associate Editor of School Psychology Review and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of School Psychology, School Psychology Review, and School Psychology Quarterly and also provides professional reviews of manuscripts for Psychology in the Schools, Review of Educational Research, and Journal of Educational Psychology. He is also the lead editor of the Developmental Psychopathology at School book series (Springer Science). His scholarly publications and presentations have provided insights regarding; developmental pathways of school success and failure, the efficacy of early prevention and intervention programs (grade retention among others), school psychology internationally, developmental psychopathology, and school crisis prevention and intervention. Among over 300 publications, including over 25 books, he is the lead-editor of The Handbook of School Violence and School Safety: International Research and Practice 2 nd Edition (2012, 2006, Routledge), co-editor of Best Practices in School Crisis Prevention and Intervention 2 nd Edition (2012, National Association of School Psychologists), lead-editor of The Handbook of Bullying in Schools: An International Perspective (2010, Routledge), The Handbook of International School Psychology (2007, SAGE Publishing), the lead editor of The Handbook of Response to Intervention: The Science and Practice of Assessment and Intervention (2016, 2007, Springer Science). He is the co-author of the book School Crisis Prevention and Intervention: The PREPaRE Model (2009, National Association of School Psychologists). Also in 2001, he was elected to membership in the Society for the Study of School Psychology. Dr. Jimerson’s scholarly efforts were also recognized by the American Educational Research Association with the 2002 Early Career Award in Human Development. He and his UCSB research team received the 2003 Outstanding Research Award from the California Association of School Psychologists. Also during 2003, Dr. Jimerson received the Lightner Witmer Early Career Contributions Award from Division 16 (School Psychology) of the American Psychological Association. He and his UCSB research team also received the 2004 Outstanding Research Award from the California Association of School Psychologists. In 2006, Dr. Jimerson received the President’s Award for Exemplary Contributions from the California Association of School Psychologists. Shane R. Jimerson, PhD

is a Professor and Department Chair of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
