    Preparatory Form

    Essentials: stand in splay shape; keep the body and the chest upright; arms fall down naturally; put the five fingers together with the palm forward

    affixing to the lateral side of the thigh; eye to the front (see figure 1).

    (Figure 1)

    1.Yuan Hou Chu Dong (the monkey goes out of the cave): take a small step of the right foot and then chasse the left foot with the right foot with

    heels above the ground to be empty step; bend the five fingers inward as the monkey claw, bend the elbows on both sides in front of the chest with

    downward claws and tease while winking the eyes to the right; stroke the ground by feet, turn the body for 45 degrees, take a step by left foot to be

    an empty step and at the same time, lift up hands to the both sides; shake elbows and hold in front of the chest, bend legs slightly, take a step of the

    right foot, turn the body for 90 degrees and take a halt-step of the right foot; stand with both tiptoes touching the ground, then bend the left leg

    completely and kneel the right foot; press the ground by both hands; eye to the both hands (see figure 2).

    Mistake: the actions of upper and lower limbs are unharmonious.

    Correction: turn the body left for 45 degrees, move the left foot to be an empty step and lift up hands to the both sides.

    2.Xiao Hou Tao Zhen (the small monkey escapes from the fighting): raise the right foot, the right hand goes across the crotch and scratch; take the

    left foot and move two steps by jumping; stooping the upper body forward with the left hand pressing the ground and scratch the hair and squeeze

    eyes continuously; take a step of the right foot, bend the left leg completely, lie the right leg on the ground straightly; left hand scratches upper part

    of the thigh, right hand imitates the monkey to scratch the right foot in a shaking way; lift the right hand above the head and withdraw left hand to

    the left of the abdomen; eye to the front (see figure 3).

    Mistake: the left hand fails to scratch backward.

    Correction: raise the right foot and let the right hand to go across the crotch and scratch.

    3.Yuan Hou Guan Zhen (the small monkey watches the fighting): get up, turn the body for 90 degrees and withdraw left foot and right foot to be

    an empty step; move both hands from left to right in arc; raise the right hand upward like a monkey claw and bend the elbow above the right upper

    place of the head with palm downward; turn the left arm outward and bend the elbow; use the left hand to scratch the right face with palm inward

    and the head tilting to the left; take a step to be an empty step; move the left hand in front and withdraw the right hand to the left side of the chest;

    eye to the front (see figure 4).

    Mistake: the hand moving lines are unclear.

    Correction: move both hands from left to right in arc; raise the right hand upward like a monkey claw and bend the elbow above the right upper

    place of the head with palm downward.

    4.Xiao Hou Liu Zhen (the small monkey slip away): take a right step by the right foot; turn the body right for 45 degrees; move another step by

    the right foot with both heels above the ground; at the same time, shake elbows in front of the chest and stop when touching to each other with

    palm shaking downward; jump a step to the left by the left foot; turn the body for 90 degrees and the both hands shaking and scratching to the both

    sides; change to monkey claws, scratching the hair and squeezing eyes; bend legs slightly; lift up the right leg with knee bent; withdraw the right

    hand to the right foot; lift the left hand to the left side of the head; eye to the right side (see figure 5).

    Mistake: actions of the upper and lower limbs are unharmonious.

    Correction: jump a step to the left by the left foot; turn the body for 90 degrees and the both hands shaking and scratching to the both sides; change

    to monkey claws, scratching the hair and squeezing eyes.

    5.Hou Zi Tan Zhua (the monkey springs the claws): ground the floor by the right foot and turn the body right for 90 degrees; st and by the left foot

    and stroke the right foot to the right to be half-seated position; place the right hand on the right side of the chest and scratch the offside of the right

    heel; bend the left elbow and place it in front of the left side of the chest; eye to the right hand (see figure 6).

    Mistake: action lines of the upper limb are unclear.

    Correction: place the right hand on the right side of the chest and scratch the offside of the right heel; bend the left elbow and place it in front of the

    left side of the chest.

    6.Xi Zhan Tao Zhen (make fun and escape from the fighting): land the right foot on the right side; ground the floor by feet; turn the body right for

    90 degrees to form a right bow step; bend both hands while shaking claws; ground the floor by feet; turn the body left for 90 degrees; lift the left

    foot and stretch to the left; throw the right hand back to be a hook shape; insert the left hand forward, then, bend the elbow and place above the

    head in viewing state; lean the upper body to the left; take a left step by the left foot; turn the body right for 108 degrees; take a step by the left foot

    to be an empty step; bend both elbows with claw shaking in front of the chest; bend legs slightly; take a small step forward by the right foot;

    ground the floor by feet; turn the body left for 90 degrees to be seated position with the upper body leaned slightly to the left and the hands moves

    from outside to inside in arc; then, turn into the monkey claw with bent elbows in front of both sides of the chest; jump to right side and chasse; lift

    the right hand to scratch in the right upper direction; bend the right elbow and place it in the right of the chest with palm downward; lift up the left

    knee; use left hand to scratch forward; withdraw right hand to the right side of the body; eye to the left hand (see figure 7).

    Mistake: actions are easy to mess and the action lines are unclear.

    Correction: pay attention to the action lines and complete each action seriously.

    7.Tou Zhai Xian Tao (steal the peak): take a left step by the left foot; turn the body left for 90 degrees; take a step by the right foot to chasse with

    the left foot; move hands from outside to insider in arc and then change into the monkey claws with bent elbows and palm downward in front of

    the chest; jump up to the front upper direction in the air; after landing; stroke the left hand backward; the left hand scratches in the front upper

    direction; place the right hand with bent elbow on the right of the body; lift up the left knee; withdraw the left hand to be in front of the forehead in

    viewing state; lift the right hand behind the body; eye to the left front direction (see figure 8).

    Mistake: actions of the upper and lower limbs are unharmonious

    Correction: take a left step by the left foot; turn the body left for 90 degrees; take a step by the right foot to chasse with the left foot; move hands

    from outside to insider in arc and then change into the monkey claws with bent elbows and palm downward in front of the chest;

    8.Hou Zi Tiao Shan (the monkey jumps in the mountain): take a forward step of the left foot; ground the floor by feet; turn the body right

    for 90 degrees; withdraw the right foot to be T-shape step; the left hand scratches forward and then bend the elbow and hold on the left;

    move the right hand upward in arc and place on the left side of the head, scratching hair and squeezing eyes; bend legs slightly while the

    upper party of body moves without stop; ground the floor by feet; turn the body right for 90 degrees; jump forward; scratch forward

    forcefully when jumping in the air; lift up the left knee; sway the left hand to the back of the body; lift up the right head to the right ear

    side; eye to the left front (see figure 9).

    Mistake: the hands fail to scratch forward forcefully when jumping in the air.

    Correction: ground the floor by feet; turn the body right for 90 degrees; jump forward; scratch forward forcefully when jumping in the air

    9.Zhai Xing Huan Yue (pick the star and replace the moon): after landing steadily; lift up the left knee forward and keep the right hand

    scratching to the right side and then to the back at the same time; turn to the hook shape hand; keep the left hand scratching from the back

    to the front and then bend the elbow and place it on the right of the head; eye to the left front (see figure 10).

    Mistake: the center of gravity is unstable and the action lines of the upper limb are unclear.

    Correction: after landing, move the center of gravity to the right leg; stretch the right leg straight; keep the right hand scratching to the

    right side and then to the back at the same time; turn to the hook shape hand; keep the left hand scratching from the back to the front and

    then bend the elbow and place it on the right of the head.

    10.Hou Zi Zhua Yang (the monkey tickles): take a left step by the left foot; turn the body left for 90 degrees; squat the left leg

    completely; kneel on the right leg; scratch hair and squeeze eyes to the right and left first, scratch the left lower jaw by left hand and

    scratch the right heel by right hand; get up and take two left step slightly; stroke left foot to the left while the right hand scratching to the

    right; then, bend the elbow and show the claw; use left hand to beat lateral of the left foot; jump by both legs and land to be half-seated

    position; withdraw hands in front of the chest and view right and left (see figure 11).

    Mistake: the left hand fails to scratch the left lower jaw

    Correction: at the completion of the lower limbs actions, scratch hair and squeeze eyes to the right and left, and then, scratch the left

    lower jaw by left hand and scratch the right heel by right hand.

    11.Hou Zi Kua Lan (the monkey carry the basket): take a right step by the left foot; turn the body right for 90 degrees; sweep the right

    hand from the right to the front; the left hand scratches forward and then clench a fist; smash the inner side of the right forearm by the

    forearm; squat legs slightly; take a jump step by the right foot and lift up the left knee; at the same time, bend the left elbow while

    scratching from bottom to top; swing the right hand inward to be a hook shape; lean the upper body slightly forward; place the right leg

    on the left knee; fall the left hand on the side of the body; swing the right hand to the place in front of the forehead; eye to the right side

    (see figure 12).

    Mistake: the right hand fails to sweep from the right to the left front direction.

    Correction: take a right step by the left foot; turn the body right for 90 degrees; sweep the right hand from the right to the front; the left

    hand scratches forward and then clench a fist; smash the inner side of the right forearm by the forearm.

    right foot; squat legs completely and roll; get up; take a backward step by the right foot; turn the body right for

    90 degrees; take a forward step by the left foot to be the left bow step; at the same time, shake elbows and

    scratch; change into the monkey claw in front of the chest; take a seated position while hands holding right foot

    and scratching on the head (see figure 13)

    Mistake: fail to hold the right foot by hands steadily.

    Correction: practice the style of rolling and scratching separately and then integrate together.

    13.Yuan Hou Beng Tian (the monkey flies to the sky): take a forward step by the right foot; get up and turn the

    body left for 90 degrees; lift up the right foot to stroke vertically to the left; bend the right knee placing on the left

    knee; at the same time, swing the left hand backward to be a hook shape; scratch forward by the right hand;

    scratch left side of the face by left hand; withdraw the neck and squeeze eyes; lift up the left knee while the left

    hand scratching forward; withdraw right hand to the right of the abdomen; eye to the left hand (see figure 14).

    Mistake: stiff knee lifting up.

    Correction: lift up the knee naturally.

    14.Xiao Hou Zuo Hao (the small monkey sits on the ground and plays): sit on the ground with the left foot

    squatting completely; stretch the right foot backward; raise the left foot upward and hold the left foot by both

    hands to the top of the head on the left side; move the left foot from up to down and land; hold the right foot and

    raise it up by both hands; apart legs to be left split; right and left hands scratching forward; eye to the front (see

    figure 15).

    Mistake: the two legs are inconsistent with each other.

    Correction: the left split action shall be completed for both legs simultaneously.

    15.Bai Hou Shou Zhen (white monkey withdraws from fighting): withdraw legs and get up; take a left step by

    the left foot with both hands scratching forward forcefully; shake the elbow to be monkey claw on both sides of

    the chest; lean the upper part of the body to the right rear; scratch hair and squeeze eyes continuously; jump to

    the right for a big step, turn the body right for 90 degree and lift up the left knee; withdraw the left hand to the

    left knee; stretch the right hand to view forward; take a forward step by the left foot; half squat by the left leg and

    half kneel by the right let; cut forward by the right hand; scratch outward by the left hand, clench the left fist,

    bend the elbow and beat the right forearm; get up; take a forward step by the right foot; land the feet, turn the

    body left for 90 degrees and then lift up the left knee; scratch the root of left heel by left hand; stand up by right

    let as a chick; swing the right hand to the place before the forehead; eye to the front (see figure 16).

    Mistake: the left knee is not lifted up as high as required.

    Correction: lift up the left knee to the height as required.

    Shou Shi (Closing Form)

    Essentials: land the left foot to chasse with the right one; unfold the right fist and fall it down from up to down to the side of the thigh; fall

    down the left hand from up to down to the side of the thigh; chest out; eye to the front (see figure 17).
