OUR BEST PRACTICESMECHANICAL STABILIZATION OF DUNES
TECHNIQUES
Mainly local species are considered :
ACACIA SENEGALACACIA RADIANA
LEPTADENIA PYROTECHNICABALANITES AEGYPTIACA
PANICUM TURGIDUMARISTIDA PUNGENSNITRARIA RETUSA
TAMARIX SENEGALENSISZIZIPHUS MAURITIANA
THE BIOLOGICAL STABILIZATION
A LOW COST TECHNIQUEGENERATING JOB OPPORTUNITIES AND INCOMES
Stabilization of dunes by introducing physical barriers
from biomass or synthetic fibers to attenuate and modify
the wind dynamics
EASY AND AVAILABLEANYONE, ANYWERE..
Easily reproductible by the populations
TECHNIQUES
Dissemination of seeds are annual airborne planting
tentatives since 1992

The main diseases caused by dust
• 36 cases of meningitis were recorded in 2012 in Mauritania in different provinces
• This disease poses to the health authorities of the country, "one of the main problems of public health."
Establishment of a National Working Group on Climate and Health (28-29 juin 2011)
Establishment of a National Working Group on Climate and Health (28-29 juin 2011)
The Main Recommandations
• Formalize the National Working Group on Climate and Health by ministerial order;
• Establish an integrated database (Climate - Health);
• Designate one representative per institution of National Working Group Climate and Health;
• Promote research in the fields of health and Climate;
• Establish an information communication system;
• Strengthening the capacities of Meteorological and health services.
Activities of NWGCH
• Several consultation meetings were held;
• An action plan was developed and sent to the AEMET;
• a listing for monitoring disease was proposed
Seasonal Forecast
• Taking stratégic actions
• order the necessary mediquements
• Conduct population awareness
