All three planes are constructed of lightweight yet strong, injection foam then factorypainted. The two one-piece airfoiled wings are factory finished and attach to thefuselage using a strong cabane structure. Flying these beauties couldn't be easier. Ingentle breezes, these semi scale WWI veterans take to the sky using only about 6 mof runway. Cruise airspeed is just 8-11 kph, so there's time to react in small parksettings or indoors.

GFree Flight Rubber Powered Airplanes BIY

Although designed as rubber powered free flight models somepeople choose not to fly these but instead build them as a beauti-ful covered or uncovered display model. With the increasedpopularity of Slow and ParkFlyer airplanes experienced modelershave converted these to small flying radio controlled aircraft.Instructions are not included for converting these airplanes toradio controlled aircraft. But it is a natural project for the experi-enced modeler because the stable flight characteristics associatedto free flight models make good Slow and ParkFlyer aircraft.Typically only rudder, elevator and motor control are added usingmicro servos and receiver. Use 280-size motors geared or direct upto 400-size direct for the Piper J-3 Cub.

Kadet LT-25 BIY

For decades, the SIG Kadet's have been the R/C trainers of choice at many clubfields. The newest in the Kadet series, LT-25 is a downsized version of thepopular SIG Kadet LT-40. The LT-25 inherits the same gentle flyingcharacteristics and light wing loading which allows it to fly slow enough togive the student pilot time to think and react. It has the same "hands off"stability on all axes. If the student pilot gets disorientated, simply let go of the"sticks" and the LT-25 will recover and return to level flight. For simplicity andminimium flying weight, the LT-25 has a tail dragger landing gear. With a wide-stance main gear and shallow angle of attack on the ground, the LT-25 takes offand lands just as easily as most tricycle gear airplanes.

LT-25 builds quickly with precision laser cut wood parts. Includes qualityhardware package with aluminum main landing gear.

Smith Miniplane BIY

Historically, the full-scale Smith Miniplane is one of the designs that helped start themodern homebuilding era. Originally designed and built in 1957 by Frank Smith ofFullerton, California, the Smith Miniplane was an early example of engineering withthe amateur homebuilder and weekend pilot in mind. It could be constructed withtools easily within reach of the average craftsman. Powered by a 100 hp Lycoming, the Smith Miniplane cruised at 190 kph and climbed at a fantastic 760 m per minute. In 1974, Glen Sigafoose, then President of Sig Mfg. Co., acquired a complete SmithMiniplane to use for aerobatic practice. Glen's beautiful red, white, and black aircraftwas the inspiration for this semi-scale model.

Like the full-scale model, it's smooth and stable, yet provides plenty of excitement inthe aerobatic department. An outstanding roll rate makes for dizzying snap rolls.Conventional balsa and plywood construction, semi-symmetrical wing. Includesmolded ABS cowling, headrest and wheel pants, factory formed landing gear andtailwheel wires, authentic decals and quality hardware pack.

anes Spacewalker 1/3-Scale BIY

Although it looks like it's straight out of the 1930's, don't bother looking upthis one in your aviation history books. The Spacewalker was designed byJesse Anglin of Hendersonville, North Carolina and first flew in 1986! Despitethe fact it is a relatively new design, the Spacewalker manages to capture allthe spirit of Aviation's Golden Age.

This 1/3-scale model of Jesse's Spacewalker retains all of the charm of hisbeautiful homebuilt. Plans for the full-size aircraft were scaled down for theultimate in scale accuracy. Construction is easy with pre-formed fiberglassparts such as cowling, wingtips, and wheel pants and conventional balsa andplywood construction.

In the air, Spacewalker is certain to please. The big wing, thick airfoil, andlong tail moment make for stable approaches and soft, slow landings. Butbefore coming back to earth, it can do enough loops, rolls, snaps, and spinsto make any sport pilot happy. Here's a scale model that almost anyone canhandle! 3-Piece wing with aluminum wing joiners. Includes hardware, scaleleaf-spring tailwheel assembly, authentic decals, etc.
