Areas of Application
The single shaft shredder, type TIGER is used inrecycling operations for the production of valuablesecondary raw materials. The feed material shouldbe in pieces in order to be metered into the machine.Whereby, it does not make any difference to theTIGER whether or not it is fed with old tire chips orelectronic waste.It does neither sneeze at used telecommunicationequipment and cables nor at circuit boards, wastebins and safety floor coverings. Anywhere whereroughest conditions exist and reliability is required,a TIGER is found in action. PALLMANN specialistsdevelop solutions, so that the material can be con-tinuously fed and transported from the shredder.When required, a sorting system for the separationof various secondary raw materials can also bedelivered with the machine.

Method of OperationThe single shaft shredder, type TIGER size reducesall cuttable material to a particle size smaller than20 mm or when necessary coarser. Material isnormally fed by means of a conveyor belt or vibratoryfeeder across the entire width of the machine.Massive, serrated rotor tearing elements work thematerial between the stator serrations. The tearingelements do not require re-sharpening, due to theregular reversing action of the rotor they are selfsharpening. Exact working gap settings are notrequired in order to achieve good results and onlythe stators must be adjusted at specific intervals. Awell dimensioned screen is installed in the lowerpart of the housing, which retains the material in thecutting chamber until it is discharged through thescreen holes. The material is then discharged straightdown out of the machine into a mechanical conveyingsystem. The installation of an auxiliary exhaustsystem is recommended.
DesignThis heavy duty and compactly built machine isdesigned for the special requirements of modernrecycling operations. Excellent accessibility to thecutting chamber by means of large front doors.Rotor and stator tearing elements are clamped bymeans of wedges and are self sharpening by meansof the regular reversing action of the rotor. Extensiveadjustments inside the machine are not necessary.The screen frame is opened hydraulically and thescreen is reversible, for even usage of both sides.The massive pedestal bearings made out of solidsteel are supported sideways by the housing andthe safety devices are in compliance with the currentmachine builders directives.
