MBA Induction Program-2012

SIOM organized two day induction programme for MBA first

year students for the academic year 2012-2014 on 1 and 2August, 2012. The Chief Guest for the programme wasMr. Ankush Malhotra, General Manager, Radio 1 and thekeynote address was given by Mr. Santosh Joshi, Ex-VicePresident Idea Cellular Ltd. It was followed by the icebreaking sessions organized for the students by the faculty ofSIOM. For the second day the sessions were conducted byMr. Ashotosh Dholke and Mr. Sudhir Bhagat, ExecutivesJP Morgan and by Mr. Dilip Vaidya, Head Consultant,B. G. Shirke Group.

Annual Award Function 2013

SIOM consistently emphasizing on holistic development of students. SIOM aims at inculcating unique value system, excellentacademic development environment conducive to learn creativity and technology transfer. To appreciate the excellence ofstudents, institute organized “Annual Excellence Award” function on 10th April 2013.The function witnessed presence ofdignitaries: Mr. B.N. Sampath, G.M.(Parts), John Deer India, Pune, Mr. Prashant Pansare, MD & CEO of IntelimentTechnologies, Dr. Rajashree Shinde, Director SIOM. The event was coordinated by Prof. Pallavi Patil, Prof. Jyoti Pawar,Prof. Rutuja Jadhav, Prof.Alekh Panda.

The inauguration to the ceremony was done in a traditional way, with a devotional song by Prof. Prajakta Gokhale. Ceremoniallamps were lightened by Dr. Rajashree Shinde, Director- SIOM followed by chief guests Mr. B.N. Sampath and Mr. PrashantPansare.

Green Cell Event

At SIOM we believe that we owe to the society in respect ofwhat we get. Green Cell is a forum created by the students, aneffort to safeguard Mother Nature with the help of variousactivities conducted by the students. To name a few E-wastehazards and disposal of e-waste was the main drive carried outby the students followed by Street Play and Green Marathon.

This event was organized on 9 & 10 October, 2012 andcoordinated by Dr. Sadhana Choukkar & Prof. Indrajeet Kole.

Parents Meet 2013

The event Parents Meet is organized every year in SIOM. This

year the event was held on 23 March, 2013. This platformhelps the parents know about the institute and thedevelopments of their children in this institute. SIOM is aninstitute which offers a platter of various activities and eventsfor the students for their overall development. During ParentsMeet the parents interact with the faculty members and getacquainted with the developments of their child. The coreobjective of the meet was to showcase values, vision, vigor ofthe institute, to keep the parents aware about the latestdevelopments, happenings of the institute, to exchange theviews and ideas about the student's progress. "Creativity Exhibition" - The objective of the exhibition is to

Campus to Corporate (2012-2013)

Sinhgad Institute of Management (SIOM) initiatedCampus to Corporate activities with the objective ofcompetency development of management students whilemaking journey from campus life to corporate life.Following various seminars, workshops, guest lectures,competitions were organized under this activity. Theoverall activity was coordinated by Dr. Satish Pawar andProf. Shubhangee Ramaswamy.

Arth Cell Event

AtArth Cell, we encourage students to be achievers but also tobe sensitive towards the weaker section of society. It may bethose who never had the privilege of staying with the parents,those who could not see the beautiful colors of life, thementally challenged people, the old people, the poor farmersetc. This is a student run cell. A number of unused medicinesare found in households around us.Arth cell students collectedthem. They also identified some doctors in Pune who arerunning clinics for the underprivileged. Students visit thosehealth centers and hand over these medicines to them. ArthCell also organized blood donation camp. Cell also organized'Transition' exhibition. The amount collected by transition was

donated to social cause. The event was organized on 8 March2013 and coordinated by Dr. Smita Sovani.

I-CUBE 2012

Managing responsibility within a company entails many of

the basic management functions, like budgeting, staffing, and

organizing and controlling, along with other aspects that are

unique to technology, like change management, software

design, network planning, tech support etc. I-Cube is an IT

based competition which facilitates students to go to the IT

companies and get real time exposure to their IT

infrastructure, working and management. This builds the

confidence of students to work in MNC environment. The

event was organized on 20 October,2012 and coordinated by

Dr. Z. S. Mulla.

MARK 2012

MARK is unique and creative intercollegiate Marketing Plancompetition which includes Industry Analysis, MarketingMix, Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning Statement etc.MARK 2012 was a highly appreciated and successful event.About 110 colleges were approached, out of which hugeresponse witnessed more than 84 teams participatedenthusiastically for the event.

Sinhgad Institute of Management, Pune, every year organizesthis unique and creative intercollegiate Marketing Plancompetition, MARK which includes Industry Analysis,Marketing Mix, Segmentation, Targeting and PositioningStatement etc. The event was started in the year 2010 andevery year the competition is held. MARK aims at developingmarket planning skills of the students. The basic purpose ofthis event was to encourage the students to come up withexclusively designed market plan for certain products andgave them a platform to portrait those ideas. It also provides anopportunity to the students to experience simulation ofmarketing practices in the industry through their own efforts.

OPEX aspires to reach out to a wide network of B-Schoolsstudents with the objective of facilitating building of arepository of a high-quality, internationally benchmarkedcases about Indian businesses. OPEX aims at developingtechnical and management skills of the students. Thecompetition is held every year with the great enthusiasm.Cases were selected from the various fields viz. Supply ChainManagement, Logistics, Inventory Management, ProjectManagement, Total Quality Management, OperationStrategy, Technology Management and Six Sigma. The event

Bizzling Blast, the business quiz is to enhance business skillsand provide opportunity for business management. ADZ is creative advertising competition; ADZ 2013

was organized on 28 February 2013 and coordinated by

Prof. M. S. Dhanawade, and Dr. Satish Pawar. The basic

purpose of this event was to encourage the students to come up

with innovative ideas and express their creativity and strategic

thinking through advertisement. The print copy of the

advertisement as well as enactment of television commercial

was to be done by the participants.
