• The furnace has internal chamber dimension of 5m (Length) x 4m

• Is designed to be able to carry out load bearing and non-load

bearing Fire Resistance Tests up to 6 hours rating on both vertical

and horizontal elements of construction.

• The furnace is capable to carry out fire resistance testing on test

New Energy Efficiency Test facilities SIRIM QAS INTERNATIONAL SDN.BHD.

was officially launched by

Minister of KeTTHA

on 15th May 2012

1) The Energy Efficiency test laboratory was officially launched by

Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) Minister

Datuk Seri Peter Chin on 15th May 2012

2) This is the first Energy Efficiency testing laboratory in Malaysia.

It is located in Section 16, Shah Alam.

3) The laboratory is ready to accept applications for energy

efficiency testing for product such as refrigerators, lamp (and

lighting devices) and air conditioner

Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) has

established an energy labeling scheme for

household appliances to assist Malaysian

consumers.

Peraturan Elektrik (Pindaan) 2013 – effective 3 May

2013 specify the minimum energy performance

standard for Refrigerator, Air-conditioner, Television,

Fans and Lamps

Energy Efficiency STAR rating become mandatory

on 3 May 2014

ENERGY RATING LABEL

* 34 category of regulated items.

* New categories:

* 1) Massager,

* 2) Air conditioner (cooling capacity of 32,000 Btu/hr & below) and

* 3) Adaptor/charger.

* Proposed date of adoption:

* All local manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers shall be given a grace period of at least 6 months from gazetted date (1 July 2013) in order to comply with the prescribed safety standards for new regulated electrical equipment to import/manufacture/display in the Malaysian market.

* Proposed date of entry into force: 1 Jan 2014
