1.Introduction

WiththeSiteMonitoringKit,ELPROprovidesaclever,easy-to-installtemperature

monitoringsystemincludingalertingforremotelaboratorycabinetsandrefrigerators/

freezers.TheautonomousSiteMonitoringKitoffersareliable24/7alerting,and

observescompliancewiththeregulationsofGMPandFDA21CFRPart11.

TheSiteMonitoringKitconsistsofthefollowinghardware:

- LIBEROPDFLoggerTe1-NthatautomaticallycreatesaPDFreportuponconnection

toaUSBportofacomputer.Atemperatureprobewithathinflexibleribboncable

whichadaptsperfectlytothegasketsofanylaboratorycabinetandenablesan

installationbytheuser.

- Athermaldampertoavoidfalsealarms

- Abattery-operatedalarmbracket,whichprovidesanaudibleandvisualalarmsignal.

Optionally,thealarmcanberoutedtoanexternalalarmingsystem.

Ifrequired,theLIBEROPDFreportcanbeanalyzedanddocumentedindetailbymeans

oftheelproVIEWERsoftware.

BeforeinstallingtheSiteMonitoringKit,

thefollowingitemsshouldbeconsidered:

theselectedpositioningissufficient.

Ifothersettingsarerequired,thesecanbe

changedwiththeliberoCONFIGsoftware.

5.Preparationoftherefrigerator

Important:

Inordertoreachbestpossibleadhesive

strength,thecabinetshouldbewarmedup

toroomtemperature,cleanedanddried

beforeanypartsaremounted.

Oncethepreparationiscompletedandall

applicablesettingshavebeenchosen,the

SiteMonitoringKitcanbeinstalled.

Installationoftheflexibleflatcableprobe

Leadthecablebetweenthedoorand

housingofthecabinet.Mountthecable

insideofthecabinet.

- Cleananddrymountingsurface

- Removethepaperfromthe

adhesivetape

- Fixtheadhesivetapebyfirmlypressingit

againsttheinnerrefrigeratorwall

Mountthecableoutsideofthecabinet

accordingtothechosenpositionofthe

alarmbracket.

- Carefullyclosethedoor

- Slightlypulltheflexibleflatcable

tostretchit

- Cleananddrymountingsurface

- Removethepaperfromthe

adhesivetape

- Fixtheadhesivetapebyfirmlypressing

- VerifywhetherLIBEROisfullyplugged

intothealarmbracket

- Verifywhethertheconnectionbetween

thecableandthealarmbracketiscorrect

- Displayreadingsareexplained

inchapter9

- Repeattest

MountTemperatureLog

withtheadhesivetapeandproceed

accordingtoinstructionsinchapter8.

Theinstallationisnowcompleted.

5.Startofoperationandmonitoring

Important:

Beforeloadinganymaterial,cooldown

thecabinet.Thismaytakeseveralhours.

Inordertostartthedevice,pressthe

«START/Transit»buttonfor3seconds.

Makesure«Transit»appearsinthedisplay;

thisindicatesthealarmconditionsare

active.Makesurethatatemperaturevalue

appearsinthedisplay(currenttempera-

ture).

Ifastartdelayhasbeenconfigured,

thedisplaywillshow«dELY»andthe

PDFloggerwillautomaticallystartlogging

temperatureafterthesetdelaytime

haselapsed.

If«n.c.»(notconnected)isdisplayed,

checkinstallationandconsultchapter9.

Assoonastheconfiguredalarmlimitshave

beenexceeded,theLIBEROdisplaychanges

fromOKtoALARM.

Thealarmbracketistriggeredwithin10

seconds.

− TheredLEDindicatesthealarm

(flashinglight)

− Thebuilt-inbuzzergivesan

audiblesignal(beep)

− Theinternalrelayclosesoropens(NO/

NC)andnotifiesanexternalalarmsuch

asatelephonedialer(ifconnected).

− Ifthealarmcannotbeimmediately

corrected,pressthe«Silent»buttonon

thealarmbrackettosuppresstheaudible

alarmfor30minutes(or2hoursdepen-

dingonDIPswitchposition).TheredLED

remainsflashinguntilthealarmhasbeen

reset.

3secondstoendthecurrentmonitoring

period.Thetemperatureindicationon

theLIBEROdisplaydisappears.Dis-

connecttheLIBEROfromthealarm

bracket.Ifthedataloggerisnotrecon-

nectedafter30minutes,analarmfor

«missingdatalogger»isactivated.

− PlugtheLIBEROPDFLoggerintothe

USBportofacomputer.Thedisplay

shows«PdF»

− Within20seconds,thePDFreportwill

automaticallygenerate(filemayshowin

WindowsExplorer)

IncasethePDFreportdoesnotappear

automatically,navigatetotheavailable

computerdrives(Windows«Start»button,

servesasaguidelineincaseofanalarm,

andcanbeattachedtothePDFreportas

monthlyprotocol.

Temperatureshouldbecheckedfrequently,
