As it turns out I did in Malta and it was the most amazing week of my life! Shane and I had been together seven and a half years when we started talking about getting married and after asking my father’s permission he proposed to me on March 17th 2010 He got down on one knee in the moonlight at the edge of the beautiful Lough Derg in Co. Tipperary, Ireland. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. We knew straight away that we wanted a foreign wedding, we had being to one the year before and we had a wonderful time. So we started researching on the internet and that is where we came across wedding planner Sarah Young through her website www.weddingplannermalta. com. From the moment we made contact we knew she was the wedding planner for us. Sarah was so efficient and professional and she really instilled confidence. We knew we could never afford to have the wedding we wanted in Ireland but we could have more than we ever wanted in Malta. The whole process of getting married abroad and having a wedding planner was great a lot of my friends who have gotten married in Ireland found it very stressful. I have to say from start to finish i never once felt stressed or nervous, even the morning of the wedding my mother DESTINATION MALTA Ellen and Shane O Callaghan July 10th 2012 in law could not understand how relaxed i was. It was all down to Sarah and her team i just knew everything would be taken care of and it was! We decided to get married in a beautiful Garden Villa where we had a civil ceremony in the fabulous gardens followed by canapés and prosecco, while a Maltese folklore duo entertained our guests. We then moved up the main Villa for a sit down meal followed by fire dancers and the Brilliant Jeremy Morgan (live wire) who we flew over to play music while we danced the night away. Our Friends and Family had the time of their lives they are still talking about it. People ask me how my wedding day was but I tell them it was my wedding week and it was amazing!
