Factors affecting on high and low self esteem
Your self esteem depends on many questions: Is your job worthwhile? Do others respect what you do? Do
you?
Do you believe you are successful?
How do you see yourself (your self image)? - Improve your self esteem- Boost your self confidence-
How do you feel about your strengths and weaknesses?
What do you think of your social status?
How do you relate to others?
Can you make your own decisions? A lack of choices leads to low self esteem.
Mrs.Najam-un-Nissa 19
I personally chose self-esteem as a topic
mainly because of my diverse group of
friends. As a whole they are lovely human
beings, but there are incidences where they
themselves don’t realize that and don’t give
their minds or bodies the self-respect that
they deserve. You can always tell the
difference between someone with low or high self-
esteem, especially inside the classroom.
Risks of Low Self Esteem:• Vulnerable to peer pressure
• More likely to make unhealthy decisions• More likely to be critical of self and others
• Increased risk of depression and suicide
Benefits of High Self Esteem:• Increased respect for yourself• Increased ability to reach goals• Increased willingness to try new things
• Increased feelings of value
DISCOVER THE PURPOSE OF YOUR LIFE
Why a high self-esteem? Persons with high
self-esteem like and accept themselves.
Persons with high self-esteem do not feel that they are perfect or better than other people, rather, they are aware of their limitations and work toward correcting them.
Adolescents with high self-esteem respond constructively to stress in their lives.
Self-esteem is important to adolescent
motivation toward success.
One of the indicators of good self-esteem of a person is the
feeling of self-actualization,
understood as the effect of satisfying the highest need in
the hierarchy of human needs
In the same way, a healthy self-esteem can force/propel a person to
achieve his/her full potential.
5 Steps to build Self-Esteem
Forgive yourself for your past mistakes.
Follow the example of successful people.
Be a self talker.
Practice your talents.
Focus on your positive attributes.
How to Build Self-Esteem1. Think Positively
A positive attitude can open your mind to learning experiences and inspire you to action.
One way to create positive attitude is through positive self-talk.• Stop negative talk in
tracks • Pay yourself a
compliment”.• Replace words of
obligations with words of personal intent – I should I choose toI’ll try I will
No one can Make you feel inferior Without your Consent. Eleanor Roosevelt
