Hybrid Cloud Storage
What is StorSimple?
➢ Extends on-premises primary storage to Azure
➢ Seamless and transparent – no application changes
➢ Three types: Physical Array for Enterprise on-premises; Cloud Appliance for Azure VMs, dev/test, and BC/DR; and Virtual Array for SMB/Branch Office environments
➢ Simple implementation
➢ Common, familiar management through Azure Portal
StorSimple Virtual Array Characteristics
Form Factor Downloadable VHD, VHDX, or VMDK for on-premisesimplementation on existing Hyper-V or VMware Hypervisor
Available Local Capacity 512GB – 8TB(provided by Hypervisor before start of installation)
Maximum Capacity (local plus cloud) 64TB (assumes 8TB local storage provided)
Maximum number of Volumes 16
Maximum size of Tiered / Local Volume 5TB / 500GB
Availability No High-Availability. Array failure requires provisioning of new SVA and restore from cloud snapshot of failed array.
Use Case and Workload Guidance SMB or Enterprise Branch OfficesSAN (iSCSI mode as with Physical Array )
