Better Together was not just a nice theme that gave our pastors a nice framework to prepare some nice sermons for us every Sunday; Better Together was a God-guided journey that was spot on for the season of the church. After seven years of running the Ladies Ministry by, God decided that this 40 Day Journey was the time to bring this to fruition. I struggled to let anyone in; a lot of people always helped but only if I asked them to. Every retreat we’ve had I’ve accepted more and more help until last year Kim Broom directed it and I had to trust her. Before the journey, I was experiencing burnout; God brought me to a low in myself to show me that I needed other people so I could let go. It was then that God said it’s time for a committee; I remember the place in the church where He told me. There are different needs among the different ladies at church – from young to old, different stages of life, and I can’t keep in touch with all of them at the same time by myself. I approached several women to put together a team that would power this new vision. Pray that we hear God for next year in terms of what needs to be done. Pray for the testimony evening on 20 November that lives would be changed. Pray that as this ministry grows that we would continue to trust God and His promises like Proverbs 3:5 tells us, ‘Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding.’” -Nicky Potgieter CJay visits Girls High South African hip hop artist, Cjay, visited at Girls High last week at the worship night we hosted there.
