TSA Motto

“Learning to Live In A Technical World”

TSA Creed

I believe that Technology Education holds an important place in my life in the technical world. I believe there is a need for the development of good attitudes concerning work, tools, materials, experimentation, and processes of industry.

Guided by my teachers, artisans from industry, and my own initiative, I will strive to do my best in making my school, community, state, and nation better places in which to live.

I will accept the responsibilities that are mine. I will accept the theories that are supported by proper evidence. I will explore on my own for safer, more effective methods of working and living.

I will strive to develop a cooperative attitude and will exercise tact and respect for other individuals. Through the work of my hands and mind, I will express my ideas to the best of my ability.

I will make it my goal to do better each day the task before me, and to be steadfast in my belief in my God, and my fellow Americans.

Welcome from

Parks Fillauer, TN TSA State President

To My Tennessee TSA Family, Welcome to the 33rd Annual Tennessee TSA State Conference, and welcome back to the beautiful city of Pigeon Forge. It’s hard to believe that our annual state conference is upon us. So much work has gone in to making this state conference an exciting and rewarding experience, and your state officer team is glad you are apart of it. Over the next few days you will compete, learn, network, and lead. Hopefully you will discover that through Tennessee TSA you are Wired for Success, and even if you don’t bring home a trophy your experiences this week will lead you to new endeavors and achievements in the future. As this is the last of our four-year engagement in Pigeon Forge be sure to take sometime to explore your surroundings. Make the most out of this years conference, and search for every opportunity to learn more about yourself and your organization. Visit the VEX Robotics tournament, make new friends, thank your advisors, meet the state officer candidates, and be sure you understand the two Bylaw Amendments that will be voted upon this year. You have the power to change our organization. Over the past three years I have had the privilege of serving Tennessee TSA. It has been a tremendous experience. I would like to thank you for this opportunity. Enjoy the 33rd Annual Tennessee TSA State Conference. I hope you will find, as I have, that through Tennessee TSA you are Wired for Success! Good Luck,

Parks Fillauer Parks Fillauer 2010-2011 State President Tennessee TSA

Katti Johanns was born in Denver, Colorado in 1990 and moved to Knoxville, Tennessee in 1995. She attended Karns Middle and High Schools.

Her career in TSA started in sixth grade and continued past graduation with the alumni program. During middle and high school, she competed at twenty different conferences in a wide variety of competitions ranging from Chapter Team to Agriculture and Biotechnology Challenge. Katti held many chapter offices through the years and served as Tennessee TSA State Reporter and State Vice-President. Currently, she is a junior at Tennessee Technological University in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Katti is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Kappa Mu Epsilon, a mathematics honor society. Since January, she works for Denso Manufacturing in Athens Tennessee as a cooperative student. For the rest of the year, she will be working at Denso in the Production Engineering Department instead of attending classes at TTU. Denso produces car parts for Toyota, Honda, GM, and many other companies. To achieve her goals through college and during the cooperative with Denso, she uses her experiences from TSA to help her assess the situation, solve problems, and implement solutions. Katti is Wired for Success because of the knowledge and growth TSA has supplied her.
