Objective

SNP Data Cockpit is designed to evaluate frequency analyses and indicators with variable data sources.

The delivery includes predefined analyses of customizing, master data, and system indicators. Create

any further analysis via a simple configuration interface. By using a simple report-based API, visualize

individual analyses.

The SNP Data Cockpit comes with a comprehensive, pre-configured data determination of data quality

and usage as well as system and database information. The following selected areas are described in

more detail:

Usage of Customizing

These analyses check the frequency of customizing in application data. This way you can identify

customizing that is not in use. Besides the development and maintenance of the customizing to display

corporate structures and processes, it is possible to identify special business cases. Both are potential

improvements for your company.

Usage of Master Data

These analyses check how frequently master data are used in application data. The master data types

vendor, customer, and materials are pre-delivered with the SNP Data Cockpit.

System- and Database Information

In order to gain an overview of the system, the capacity and size of table spaces or tables can be

aggregated (e.g. at component, modules or name space level). Also, temporal processes and

developments can be configured and displayed.

Usage Statistics

The usage statistic shows which transactions and reports were used. This statistic can as well be

aggregated at component, modules or name space level. Temporal processes and developments can

also be configured and displayed.

Expanding by Configuration

Reporting is organized in a tree structure to facilitate easy and individual structuring via drag&drop. It is

possible to attach new views at any time or to rearrange existing ones to adjust the view to your

requirements. Information can be displayed via a flexible layout to structure it even further. For a

graphical analysis, 9 different chart types are available. Aggregate, filter, and sort data according to the

pivot table principle. Different configurations can be saved per view as variants. This way they can be

called easily at any time.

Expanding by Data Extractions

If the pre-delivered data extractions are not sufficient, you can easily write new extractions by using a

report-based API and attach it to the SNP Data Cockpit.

Parameters and variants used in the report are automatically available in the SNP Data Cockpit and can

be used for the configuration of data determination.

Historicization of Determined Data and Creation of Time Series

Determine data at any time or schedule automatic and regular data determinations as batch job for

single areas or the entire reporting structure. All data will be stored after the determination and thus

historized. This way, time series are created automatically.

Presentations

Use the SNP Data Cockpit to generate all configured views as web-enabled presentation. These

presentations are generated and hosted with a SAAS solution on the SNP Service Portal. The result can

be distributed without a system access by passing on the URL or the embedded QR codes. This function

can be used for mobile devices to monitor up-to-date figures on the go.

Limitation

The determination of data takes place on one system. Currently it is not possible to combine results of

multiple determinations. However, using your own, you can perform determinations on several systems

and combine the data prior to transferring them to the SNP Data Cockpit. An accrual calculation of

systems can be carried out by using a separate column in the result set.

Regular data determinations are currently not scheduled in the Cockpit, but via a mechanism in the job

scheduler.

The control system provides Cockpits and user interfaces for analyses.

SAP® Web Application Server (Release 7.00 or higher) with at least:

▪ 2 GB main storage (RAM) or 150 MB per user at the same time

▪ 10 GB free database storage
