His influence was apparent in the fields ofpolitics,public administrationandeducationas well asreligion. He is best known for his efforts to establish the abolishment of the practice ofsati, theHindufuneral practice in which the widow was compelled to sacrifice herself in her husbands funeral pyre in some parts of the Bengal. Crusaded againstsocial evilslike sati, polygamy and child marriage etc.Demanded property inheritance rights for women.In 1828, he set up theBrahman Sabaha movement of reformist Bengali Brahmins to fight againstsocial evils.

Pandita ramabaiPandita Ramabai(23 April 1858 5 April 1922) was an Indian social reformer, a champion for the emancipation of women, and a pioneer in education. She acquired a reputation as a Sanskrit scholar. Ramabai was born on 23 April 1858 inCanara districtofBritish India(now in Karnataka). Her Family belongs to Mala Kattemane Dongare Family. Her father, Anant Shastri, was an intellectual Brahmin, who from his study of Hindu texts, believed that women should be educated.When her parents died in the 1877 famine, she and her brother decided to continue their father's work. She and her brother traveled all over India. Ramabai's fame as a lecturer reached Calcutta, where the pundits invited her to speak.

Swami VivekanandaSwami Vivekanandawas born on 12 January 1863 4 July 1902), bornNarendra Nath Datta, was an Indian Hindu monk and chief disciple of the 19th-century saintRamakrishna. Vivekananda believed that a country's future depends on its people, and his teachings focused on human development.He wanted "to set in motion a machinery which will bring noblest ideas to the doorstep of even the poorest and the meanest". Vivekananda linked morality with control of the mind, seeing truth, purity and unselfishness as traits which strengthened it. He advised his followers to be holy, unselfish and to have faith.
