DESCRIPTION
Rebranding the Social Service League meant more to me than a grade, I wanted to find a way to realistically impact the organization. They have been a non profit org. for over 100 years, have the lowest prices of all thrift stores, are 100% local, and have a focus on the arts. The Social Service League raises money through their thrift store, local art shows or concerts, or by donations. All of the money the SSL raises goes to fund programs for Lawrence locals such as; The Prom Dress Room, Vision Fund, and Shoe Fund. I created a branding system that allows the SSL to use their own materials to promote themselves at nearly no cost. By using recycled materials, stickers, pre-made stamps, and limited printing, the SSL can gain donations and customers from college students and locals.

A PLACE WHERE...
The Social Service League of Lawrence emerged out of the ashes of Quantrill’s Raid in 1863. Following the devastation, the Lawrence community formed a “League” to provide various supplies to families in need.
YOU ARE CONNECTED TO HISTORY AND KANSAS HERITAGE
A GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN BETTERING THE LAWRENCE COMMUNITY.
YOU CAN FIND THE BEST BARGAINS.Social Service League is a place where you can let your imagination run free. Buy used items at the cheapest prices to support your community. DIY pro-jects, vintage clothing, and household items are all at your disposal.
YOU GIVE BACK TO OTHERS IN THE LAWRENCE COMMUNITY.All proceeds that the events raise and profit from The League go towards funding the Vision Fund, Shoe Fund, Prom Dress Room, and domestic help.
FUNDRAISERS AND EVENTS ARE BASED AROUND THE ARTS.There are several key events every year that help raise money to support funds. Events such as Monster Fashion Show, The Block Party, a Carnival, and Final Fridays are the main sources.

Root cause of problem. There is not enough money to fund the programs and events. WHY?Because SSL is too exclusive so only a select audience shops at the thrift store.
WHY?There is no advertisement for it to students or West Lawrence so only the less fortunate of Lawrence, or the more ‘hipster’ or locals know about The League and their events.
WHY?There is not enough money raised to afford any advertisement and everything they do now is by word of mouth and they are not putting enough effort into expanding their audience.
WHY?They have been around since 1863 but do not know the full potential they could have. They could attract an entirely new audience of students and adults who would be happy to shop, volunteer, or donate.
PROBLEMThe Social Service League fails to provide for the Lawrence community because there is a lack of volunteers and shoppers.
WHERE CAN WE FIND VOLUNTEERS OR SHOPPERS?The SSL needs to take time and focus their aim on KU students. If they geared advertisements towards this audience, they would be able to attract more costumers into the thrift store. Once students knew that the store existed, they would spread the word and generate more advertisement for the events and programs that SSL holds.
FUNCTIONAL We allow Lawrence residents to be part of our greater community by partipating in events, fundraisers, or shopping at The League.
MENTALBeing part of the SSL makes you feel like more than just a resident of Lawrence you are acting local, shop-ping local, supporting local, and being local.
SPIRITUALWe have been around since 1863 and have been focused on improving the Lawrence Community. All money from events or The League goes back to Law-rence and helps locals who are less fortunate.
SOCIALYou are trendy, creative, a fan of the local arts, inven-tive, outgoing, and a supporter. There is something for everyone at the SSL.

She is always looking for new creative ways in which she can recycle something old.
On the weekends, she checks out garage and estate sales to see if she can find anything in-teresting. She loves concerts, First Fridays, and taking part in or helping out with photoshoots.

BUSINESS SYSTEMBebas and archer work well in the business system to keep it clean and professional. The two typefaces work together to show the SSL is fun and a little bit goofy.
IN POSTERS AND ADS Bebas allows the posters to be loud and get the audiences attention while being legible. Archer evens out the boldness while adding a bit of fun into the mix to connect to the reused magazines.
WITH STICKERSThe stickers usually use Bebas and archer but in order to fit with the events they advertise, sometimes another typeface is used. homestead is used in the advertisement for the carnival, it worked perfectly with the other typefaces.
