1. Social skill training in groups
• In small groups (2-4), mainly from the same class, get extra social skill training.
how do I behave in a group when we are out on the streets?
In what way can I pass the breaks ? What is respect/friendship ?
Social skill training in group
• We talk about emotions & feelings• We try empathize how others can feel by the
means of pictures.
Social skill training in groups
• We discuss special activities, projects, excursions.• Pupils can also give their opinion and comments
about these activities.• Pupils may also bring up their own problems. We
then try to find together a solution.- conflict situations on the bus or at the playground- problems during class, lesson related
2. Working step by step
• Individual made step-by-step shemes for pupils.• Individual made ‘to-keep-in-mind’-cards
• !! Only when there is a need for this!! (by request of the teacher) Examples:
- what do I do when I am done with my work?- tablemanners
3. Individual Talks
• Older pupils express the need for individual talks: - problems are more personal
- not always want to share this Ex: - problems with brothers & sisters, parents
- school related problem- friendship & love
3.Individual Talks
In agreement with these pupils we write down some rules. When they are on paper then they can’t beforgotten. (visualisation)
4. Worktraining
• It is important to prepare the work training more elaborate with these pupils.– When something is not clear then clearify– Useful tricks and tips – Once a year the ASS-coach pays a visit while the
pupil is out for work training
4. Work Training
• Evaluation:– The experiences of the pupil can be shared with
the teacher– Also will be compared with what the evaluation
paper states and how the contacts where with the work training itself. ‘Do we think alike or not?’
– What does the pupil have to know more/ work on?
– Extra exercises if needed!
5. Examples of practice
• 1. How do we behave on the playground?• 2. How do we behave when we are on the
bus?• 3. How do we behave when we are out as a
group and walk on the streets.• 4. Preparing for work training
