Introduction

Socialization is knowing a culture and being able to live in it. It is also a process wherein individuals learn and get new ideas from others surrounding them. In line with this, Social Interactions are events in which people attach meaning to a situation, interpret what others are tying to tell them, and respond accordingly. Their instances may occur accidentally, repeatedly, and regularly.

Agents of Socialization

The Family – Responsible for determining one’s attitude towards religion and establishing a career

Peer Groups – Group of people who roughly have same age or share social characteristics

Education – Responsible for socializing groups of young people in particular skills and values in the society

Mass Media – designed to reach a large audience through radio networks, magazine, television, etc.
