Mrs. Alex Alex- ander will assist the hostess. PLEADS NOT GUILTY Charles Murray of Great Neck pleaded not guilty when arraigned be- fore Judge Cortland A. Johnson in Nassau county court yesterday on a charge of third degree burglarly. He was arrested on the complaint of Peter N. Leone of Great Neck. Leone charged that Murray entered his house and stole a" gas stove. Murray .was allowed his liberty in nominal bail for trial later. The Roosevelt Jewish center will hold a strawberry festival at 94 Woods avenue, Roosevelt, tonight. Isabella Bartlett Is Graduate At Connecticut

Miss I&abelle Bartlett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer L. Bartlett of West Merrick road, Freeport, was graduated from tre Cbnnecticut Women's college, receiving her B. S. degree. During her years at college Miss Bartlett has been prominent in various activities, being president of the senior class.

Miss Bartlett has been appointed physical training instructor at Mrs. Day's school in New Haven, Conn., and will assume her position in the fall.

Mr. and Mrs. William J. Martin of Bergen place, Freeport, enter­tained at a bridge at their home Sunday night for the benefit of the child welfare league.

CENTRE- SERVICE CLUB HAS FINAL MEETING

Cassiopeia Service club of Rockville Centre held the last meeting of the season yesterday, at the Masonic temple, Rockville Centre. Plans were made for a picnic to be held at the home of Mrs. William Kesel, Sooth-old, in July.

Refreshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Harold Brlndley, Mrs. William Grete, Mrs. Grace IJealy, and Mrs. Royal Richensteen.

The first fall meeting will be held September 19.

Olive Weseman Is Bride Of James Siene At Baldwin

St. Christopher's church in Bald­win was the scene of a pretty wedding Sunday afternoon when Miss Olive Weseman, daughter of. Mrs. Bessie Weseman of Walnut street, Baldwin, became the bride of James Siene, son of Mrs. James Clark of Philadelphia and Freeport. The ceremony ( was performed at 4:30 o'clock with Rever­end Lawrence Kalsch officiating.

The bride wore a gown of white net with white picture, hat and car­ried a bouquet of bridal roses.

Merrick Women Entertain At Bridge And Luncheon

Mrs. Lee A. Holley and Mrs. Wil­liam A. Rochester of Merrick were luncheon and bridge hostesses to members of their bridge club. The group met at the home of Mrs. Rochester, and proceeded from there to Freeport, for luncheon. They re­turned to Mrs. Honey's home orf Lincolrf boulevard for bridge. Mrs. Rich­ard Wellington presided and Mrs. Maria Bailey and Miss Virginia Al-drich were hostess. Miss Aldrlch read the Pldae report. It v*is agreed to cancel the strawberry festival pre­viously announced in favor of a dance. Mrs. Richard Wellington was appointed as delegate to the conven­tion to be held in Brooklyn, and Mrs. Adels Duffy was named alternate.

Mrs. Adels Duffy and Mrs. Obeli Lilkstrale era co-chairmen for the dance, assisted by a committee which includes: Mrs. Richard Wellington, Mrs. Carrie Brockett, Mrs. Frank Zilch, Mrs. Marie Bailey, Mrs. Teresas Smith, Mrs. Harold Fowler and Miss Virginia Aldrlch. A special meeting of the committee wilk be called in the near future to make final arrangements.

The next meeting win be held July 31. Mrs. Adele Duffy and Mrs. Harold Fowler will be hostess.

PLEADS NOT GUILTY Charles Murray of Great Neck

pleaded not guilty when arraigned be­fore Judge Cortland A. Johnson in Nassau county court yesterday on a charge of third degree burglarly. He was arrested on the complaint of Peter N. Leone of Great Neck. Leone charged that Murray entered his house and stole a" gas stove. Murray .was allowed his liberty in nominal bail for trial later.

The Roosevelt Jewish center will hold a strawberry festival at 94 Woods avenue, Roosevelt, tonight. The affair will be in charge of Mrs, Louis Le-vine, chairman ;^Mrs. Joseph Morris, Mrs. Morris Sigman and Mrs. H. B. Winer. All members of the center are requested to bring packages contain­ing gifts, which will be sold for tho benefit of the center.

The Woman's Episcopal church, North Bellmore, will hold a card party and strawberry festival at the parish hall, Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mrs. Francis Dedek, president of the guild, will be assisted by other members.

The Men's club of St. Mark's church will meet at the parish hall tonight at 8:30 o'clock.

93 Cedar street, Hempstead, announce the birth of a daughter, Mflva Leah, born at South Side Communities hos­pital Monday, June 30 at 10:30 in the morning. The baby weighed 6% pounds and both mother and child are reported doing nicely.

Mrs. St. John was the former Miss Leah Smith, of Freeport. She was a graduate of the 1931 class of -the Nassau hospital school of nursing, at Mlneola.

Mrs. B. W. Mansfield of Jefferson street, Stewart Manor, opened her home from 3 until 5 o'clock for a garden tea for the benefit of the Stewart: Manor Garden club. Mrs. Mansfield's garden was bedeckedvwith polyantha roses flanking either side of a hedge, Interspersed with verbena and heliotrope. Two rose arbors in the rear of the garden were a pleas­ant accompaniment to a bronze sun­dial, presented Mrs. Mansfield by the members of the Garden club, of which she was president last year. A large number of members of the club

and their friends visited the garden.
