Grid connected photovoltaic systems
1.available surface on roof or on ground for solar modules -> 1kWp = 10m²2.load profile: what is the maximum peak load in kW? -> not interesting ! No batteries are required, only daytime3.energy consumption: which is my annual energy consumption in [kWh]? -> 1kWp produces 1500kWh/year* 4.feed in tarif available or self consumption?5.special features? ->BIPV6.your budget -> how much do you want to invest?
* depending on site
Off-grid photovoltaic systems
1.available surface on roof or on ground for solar modules -> 1kWp =10m²2.load profile: what is the maximum peak load in kW? = power of inverter/ chargers; 100% night time?3.Are there seasonal variations of load profile and irradiation?4.Energy consumption: which is my daily average energy consumption in [kWh]? -> worst case analysis5.How many days of battery autonomy do I need? -> recommendation: 5 days6.Do I have back-up from grid or diesel generator?7.Special features? ->BIPV8.Your budget -> how much do you want to invest?

POWER THE WAY TO SUSTAINABILITY
SOLAR23 Group3. How to manage turn key projects?
Principle:
„Do not look for the lowest investment cost,but look for the lowest lifetime cost (cost per year)“
best practise recommendations:
- choose quality products manufacturered under industrial standards- build long term relations with suppliers to guarantee spare part supplies- standardize your applications, avoid to engineer always a different solar system for each site- establish an own internal quality managment system such as ISO 9000 and document all your activities

National & international tenders
• Technical specifications set by tender document / consultant• offer only the minimum standard which is requested by the tender• not the quality wins, but price, not ROI, but initial budget• after sales service is mostly forgotten no control mechanism• many winners finally deliver different components than offered
SOLAR23 adapted design
• detailed analysis what customer really needs• lowest annual cost of investment by using long lasting components• turn key solution with all components („nothing forgotten“)• professional project management from A to Z including commissioning if required• after sales service & partnership• remote monitoring

SOLAR23 Group4. After Sales Service
Partnership and long-term engagement offered by SOLAR23to assure successful system operation
1.SOLAR23 usually teams up with local partnerlevel A: financial minority share holdinglevel B: sales agency agreement
level C: customer-supplier relationship
2.Choose first quality components which will safeguard your good reputation among your customers
3. Combine international components with local components (local purchase)
4. Marketing support by SOLAR23 (trade shows, exhibition room etc.)
5. Know how transfer by SOLAR23 to partner company by training
6. Team up for international projects and bid bonds
7.To benefit from manufacturer‘s warranty conditions: local expertise needed!will the manufacturer still be existing?

SOLAR23 Group5. Financial analysis
How about the economy of PV systems?
1.PV module prices have dropped by 50% during the last three years and have stabilized.
2.Lead prices are constant (The lead acid battery is not at all dead!)
3.System solution efficiency has increased by means of
- inverter technology (up to 97% efficiency)- LED lighting technology (more than 100 lm/W)- direct use of solar energy (e.g. pumping system without energy storage, solar fridge without battery)- special adaption of components (solar pump inverters adapted to pump characteristics;
system power management, optimised charging algortihms)
4.Knowledge and experience is available, no contingencies required for expected „first time uncertainties“
PV systems are competitive in many cases today… ...when thinking long-term!
