SOLVENT FREE DEHESIVE® SYSTEMS COLOR YOUR LINER Applications Colored release liners are used to optically identify the silicone coated side of a release liner or to differentiate release layers in double sided tape applications. There are several ways to achieve a colored release liner. Colored substrates can be used, but they do not allow for differentiation of the back and front sides of the liner. Printed substrates can also be used, but the chemistry of the dye can result in inhibition of cure when siliconizing or poor anchorage of the silicone layer. DEHESIVE®

Color Pastes can be used to color release liners. New nanotechnology results in an unprecedented depth of color in silicone release coatings. Processing DEHESIVE®

Color Pastes can be combined with any solvent free DEHESIVE®

system. Typically, 5% of DEHESIVE®

Color Paste, replacing an equivalent amount of DEHESIVE®

polymer, is sufficient to achieve a deep shade at coating weights of 1 – 2 g/m². Addition of DEHESIVE®

Color Paste increases viscosity of a DEHESIVE®

system. Effect on release performance is minimal. Cleaning After coating is completed, the rolls of the coater in contact with the colored batch are wiped down thoroughly as described in the leaflet EQUIPMENT CLEANING PROCEDURE. Additionally, a run of colored DEHESIVE®

system should be followed by a colorless run using a non-white substrate to eliminate

the last traces of the DEHESIVE® Color

Paste. Silicone Products WACKER SILICONES offers a wide range of solvent free Pigment Pastes FL. Several are especially suited to be used in solvent free DEHESIVE®

systems. DEHESIVE®

Color Paste EL FL Blue 5013 DH is a ready-to-use compound. It consists of pigments and a reactive silicone polymer. It provides an intense blue color to silicone release coatings.

5% DEHESIVE®

Color Paste EL FL Blue 5013 DH added ELASTOSIL®

Color Paste FL Heliogreen 6004 is also a ready-to-use compound. It consists of pigments and a reactive silicone polymer. It provides an intense green color to silicone release coatings.

5% ELASTOSIL® Color Paste FL

Heliogreen 6004 added DEHESIVE® Release Systems Silicone release coating components can be combined and adjusted to meet various processing and performance challenges.
