Model SD SWMD1 provides 60 dB of isolation of the 2.3
MHz SWM control signal from the “CATV+SWM” port to
the CATV port.
The 2.3 MHz from apartment 1 is prevented from mixing
with the 2.3 MHz signal from apartment 2 in the CATV
network.
Model SD SWMD2 is intended for CATV and SWM
separation or combining where isolation is less critical.
Model SD SWMD2 features low in-band insertion loss.
SWM control 2.3 MHz and MRV / DECA isolation is 35
dB minimum.
Model SD SWMD3 is intended for CATV and SWM
isolation where both 2.3 MHz and MRV fi ltering is critical.
The D3 adds a band reject fi lter at 475 to 625 MHz.
The SD SWMD3 is suggested for applications where MRV
fi ltering occurs in a single diplexer.

Model AD14 amplifies both Off-Air and SWM signals and
combines the signals on a single coax. Power passes from
the amplifi er to the SL5S LNB. NO power passes to the
Off -Air antenna. Model HRPIR242 inserts 24 VDC power.
Multi-room viewing is not possible with OFF-Air signals
present. MRV frequencies of 475 to 625 MHz fall in the
UHF off -ar band channels 14 to 41.
Maximum drop length is extended to 100 feet RG-6. The (8) room example illustrates outlets at 50, 75, 100
and 150 feet of coax from the splitter.
At each receiver the combined signal is separated with
a diplexer. An AM21 Off -Air receiver or the TV tuner can
be used to receive the off -air signal.
Receivers not emitting MRV signals in the 475 to 625 MHz
band require just a SD SWMD2 diplexer.
Receivers which transmit MRV require a SD SWMD3 diplexer with built in MRV band stop fi ltering.
Model LA141R-T24 amplifies both Off-Air and SWM
signals and provides the 24 VDC powering for the AD14 and SL5S LNB. Adding the LA141R-T24 extends the in
dish to receiver distances another 150 feet.
In this application the dish is 150 feet from the MPOE and
the furthest receiver is 250 feet form the 8-way splitter.

A Satellite Master Antenna TV (SMATV) system controlled
and owned by the system operator has cable frequencies
54 to 806 MHz forward and 7 to 40 MHz return. Both the
SWM signals and the SMATV signals are to be delivered
to each apartment on a single coax.
DIRECTV® mutli-room viewing (MRV) sends high level
signals in the 475 to 625 MHz band from receivers. Model
H24 and HR24 ship with multi-room viewing enabled.
MRV and SMATV signals CAN NOT share the same coax.
Filtering is required to keep the MRV signals within the
apartment.
Models SD SWMD1 and SD SWMD3 internally fi lter two
frequency bands of CATV (7 to 40 MHz & 54 to 806 MHz)
and three bands of DIRECTV; DC to 2.3 MHz, 475 to 625
MHz and 940 to 2150 MHz.
SMATV signals from 7 MHz to 806 MHz are combined
with the SWM16 940 to 1840 MHz output in model SD SWMD1. The SD SWMD1 features 60 dB isolation of the
2.3 MHz SWM control signal to the CATV input. It also
provides sharp fi ltering to allow the CATV 7 -40 MHz
sub-band to pass to the apartment.
Model SD SWMD3 separates the CATV signals to feed the
Cable Modem. Cable Modem 7 to 40 MHz return signals
pass back to the IDF closet. The SD SWMD3 features a
band reject fi lter for the MRV 475 to 625 MHz signals
generated by the DIRECTV receivers.

Model LA141R-T24 amplifies both SMATV and SWM
signals. Power passes from the amplifi er through the SD SWMD1 to power the SWM16. Maximum drop length is extended to 225 feet RG-6 for apartments with (4) outlets and 75 feet internal apartment coax.
MRV signals from receivers can be blocked by model
SD SWMD3 so SMATV and SWM signals can share the
single coax all the way to the receiver. Higher SMATV
levels are required to push the SMATV deeper in the
apartment. Model LA141R-T or model LA281R-T may
be used to increase the SWM & SMATV levels by 14 or
28 dB respectively.

SONORA models SD SWMD2 and SD SWMD3 internally
fi lter two frequency bands of CATV (7 to 40 MHz & 54 to
806 MHz) and three bands of DIRECTV ( DC to 2.3 MHz,
475 to 625 MHz and 940 to 2150 MHz).
DECA signals from 475 MHz to 625 MHz are combined
with the SWM16 940 to 1840 MHz output. The SD SWMD3 features 60 dB isolation of the DECA signals
from reaching the SWM2 output. We do not want DECA
signals combining with SWM1 to mix with DECA signals
combining with SWM2. Note that in the SWM16 there is
6 dB isolation of the DECA from SWM1 to SWM2.
Model LA141R-T may be used with model SD SWMD2to extend the IDF to receiver drop distance by 150 feet.
Less 475 to 625 MHz DECA isolation is required in the SD SWMD2 when proceeded with the LA141R-T amplifi er.
The amplifi er blocks the DECA signal from reaching the
SWM1 output.
For DRE applications a SWM output is split (8) ways to
serve (8) rooms. There is (1) DECABB1MR0-01 adaptor
to serve the (8) rooms. The 2.3 MHz isolation in the SD SWMD2 is suffi cient for this application.
