Waterdrop Exhaust Silencers

Lloyds approved FRP wet exhaust systems

Main engines and generators

Discharge above water, below water, or stack

Custom configurations to fit any machinery space

Patented designs for the quietest yachts

Page 12: Soundown Yacht Presentation

How do Waterdrop Silencers Work

Exhaust gas and water are separated inside the muffler to allow our tuned resonators to cancel exhaust tones. This eliminates exhaust rumble and splashing that can be heard on deck or in the accommodations.

All internal components of our Waterdrop Silencers are designed to your application. This allows the internal resonators to be tuned to the firing rate and gas flow of your engine.

With the water and gas separated cool dry exhaust gas can be routed overboard, underwater, or up the stack in FRP tubing reducing weight and installed cost of steel piping and insulation.

Page 13: Soundown Yacht Presentation

Generator Installations

Conventional Waterdrop Silencer

Vertical format provides the greatest degree of water and gas separation.

Recommended for stack discharges.

Systems with integrated soot sinkers greatly reduce floating soot particles

Page 14: Soundown Yacht Presentation

Generator Installations

Axial Waterdrop Silencer

Horizontal format is configurable into the tightest machinery spaces

Can be configured for installation on top of generators where floor space and walking areas are limited

Mounting options from above or below

Page 15: Soundown Yacht Presentation

Propulsion Engine Installations

Towers Mufflers

Gas/water separation system facilitates the quietest installation.

No engine noise

No splashing of water

Configurable for hullside or stack discharge

Custom parts can be designed to fit in even the tightest engine room

Systems with integrated soot sinkers greatly reduce floating soot particles

Lloyd’s of London approved

Page 16: Soundown Yacht Presentation

Propulsion Engine Installations

Towers Mufflers

Designed to provide quieting of gas exiting below waterline in a compact muffler

Minimal back pressure contribution

Used in conjunction with a Conventional Waterdrop for critical silencing of bypass

Ideal for midship or aft engine room configurations.

Equipped with 150lb class flanges for classified vessels

Page 17: Soundown Yacht Presentation

Propulsion Engine Installations

Axial Waterdrop Silencers

Axial format is ideal for installation outboard and aft of main engines.

Round or elliptical shells allow these silencers to be optimized for the avialable space without sacrificing critical internal volume

Water can be drained away separately or recombined with gas for a common discharge

Available with multiple inlets for twin turbo or triple/quad engine installations
