Narrandera will be desperate to recover from last week's hiding at the hands ofTurvey Park in their bid to win the much sought after fifth place on the Mercantile Mutual Riverina Football League ladder.

The Eagles would have wanted a better showing against the unbeaten competition leaders but slipped out of the five after holding that place for a number of weeks.

However, Narrandera is favoured with a better draw than their two main opponents -North Wagga and Ganmain-Grong GrongMatong.

The Eagle will need a speedy recovery to come out and beat Leeton-Whitton this weekend and East Wagga-Kooringal in the last home and away match to get back in the running.

North Wagga's season virtually rests with its performance against Turvey Park this weekend.

The Saints are hanging in there and claimed a good win against Temora last week.

The Saints must beat the Bulldogs this week - they would be the first team to do so this season - and then Griffith in the game before the finals.

At the same time they'll hope GGGM (games against Mangoplah-CU and Turvey) and Narrandera (against Leeton and EWK) come to grief at least once.

The Saints have one of the toughest assignments in the semi-final lead-up and will

3

be deserved finalists if they get that far. Written off a couple of weeks ago, the

Saints have battled on and are still a chance - but it's going to take some of their best football to get there ... and then to go on with it.

Griffith is now only percentage behind third-placed Temora and are still probing for that position and the important double chance.

Temora would still be favoured for third spot with a far easier draw in the run home than the Swans.

The Kangaroos have East Wagga this week and finish the home and away series against Collingullie-Ashmont.

These are two games the Roos should wrap up if they're serious finals contenders.

Teams should be at, or very close to, their peak form and a top three team would be expected to win against this opposition.

Nevertheless, East Wagga was far from disgraced against GGGM last week and will also be boosted by the re-signing of captaincoach Jason Baulch for next season.

The Hawks have promised a lot in the past few seasons but have to clear that extra barrier to go on with it.

With Baulch back at the helm and the rebuilding process continuing, we can probably expect the Hawks to again do better in 1996.EWK supporters have been waiting patiently for the Hawks to get it together so a good finish to the season would be encouraging for them.

Losing by only three points to the Lions was no disgrace so Temora and Narrandera would want to tread carefully when they match-up against the Hawks in the next two weeks.

I The most disappointing aspect

of last week's match with Mango was not the seniors loss, but rather the Daily Advertiser's appalling lack of coverage. How

RED ~A~ LtL~6oPs can you promote a game if the supposed areas premier football

roundup does not report on one of the areas major sporting leagues matches. Give me the lrrigator and in particular the Area News for a more entertaining unbiased and comprehensive report on the regions football matches.

Our Seniors found their fitness and endeavour levels didn't match that of the committed Goannas. Both teams started like a bullet with a very entertaining and fast first quarter. But Mango kept going and we fell away.

Reserv es had a dominate first half but then proceeded to take it easy in the second. Big Mick dominated up forward all day once again.

Despite winning, the U18s lost a good opportunity to improve their finals chances, as they struggled against the Goannas. And now have to produce some big wins to catch up.

The long awaited Ball is on tonight with the bus leaving the Wade Club at 8 pm and 8.30 pm. So don't plan to do too much on Sunday after all, it is a day of rest!

All raffle tickets are to be sold and handed to Judy McLean very soon or we won't be able to fund Tommy's political campaign. He gets very thirsty going from door to door.

Next Sunday we also have our Vote Count Night after Coolamon at the Wade Club - be there.

But for this week let's send the Eagles home winless. CARN THE CROWS.

COLLINGULLIE-ASHMONT

~ I don't know what one can say

about last week, probably the less the better, no body was switched on I think we were all still home in bed, the only thing that turned out OK was the weather. RED, WHITE V

Our baby Demons were well beaten by a bigger Griffith outfit,. Awards to the youngest bald head in NSW, Brad Aiken; the Socks to Rory Popple and the Coaches award to Jay Little.

The winning wheels fell off the Magoos, maybe celebrating got too much for them. The Mug went to Scott Shipway, the Towel to Clint Hansell and the Silvalite award to Brett Neilson.

I don't know what to say about the Firsts. Their wheels completely fell off. Griffith was far too quick all over the ground - a credit to them. Awards to Rob Meyers - the Mug and Dinner for Two at Ashmont Hotel; the R.H Blake award to Kyle Johnston, the John Waring Endeavour award to Troy Gunning and the Towel to Brett Pearson.

There were no games in the netball. The League Best & Fairest Vote Count Night

is on the 12th Sept. at Narrandera ExServicemen Club, I still have a few tickets left so get in quick. Also to those who have 200 club tickets please get them in to June ASAP.

This week see's our last home game for the season against Coolamon, so let's reverse our first encounter with our near neighbours and chalk one up.

P.S. PLEASE return all perpetual trophies ASAP .. ..

Footballs ' like Jazz, highly skilled people work as a team, improvising within certain parameters without knowing what's going to happen next. Sometimes moves of great beauty

GREEN. WHITE emerge from an apparent bungle . v It's the kind of beauty Hemingway

called "grace under pressure", which that little pocket dynamo Greg McKelvie has in spades. Surely Squeaker has proven that he is the class rover in the RFL, and a big chance for the Medal. The Mac Family has a mortgage on Mugs at the moment, with Julie also gaining the coveted pewter in the netball along with Megan "Ostrich" Hannan. Rocket "Rod" O'Brien bounced back to a semblance of his best form to snare the Godde Family award and the towel to the evil, snarling, spitting apparition of the backline, Daniel Crocker.

The 2nds was a procession, with the only highlights provided by the gut busting, bone shattering, pack-scattering Craig Gosling, who boosted his fitness by running from Coolamon to Wagga before the game. Gos was ably assisted by Woody, a more skilled version of the afore mentioned player, and Shane Rudd, who has a long term contract with Leukoplast, held the flag up with a never-say-die effort.

Before I mention the award winners in the 1 S's a word of thanks to Goof and the Tiger Clubs for allowing the game to go ahead with reduced numbers . The club award went to Slammin' Sam Roberts who must be knocking on the door of 1st grade selection and is a lot quieter than his mother. The Sox went to Brad Mattingly whose boyish good looks debonair manner and sparkling social skills are matched only by his old man and Luke Maloney who looks like he needs a good feed, won the Barty's Award.

The netball was a bit like the Gobba Bridge, there 's a fair bit of work to be done, however Karyn Turner gave a dazzling display to win the B grade award and the A grade winners were mentioned earlier.

Upcoming functions include Trivia Night on the 25th August at the Golf Club and the Grand Final Breakfast at the Kindra Park Ballroom on the AFL grand Final Day should be a: cracker. A most important date is 16th September when the Senior & Junior club planning day is to be held at the Coolamon Golf Club. This day is to develop and plan the future direction of the clubs for the next five years, so all people interested in the future of football in Coolamon are invited to attend this vital day.

What more needs to be said about this game apart from the fact that the wooden spoon is beckoning!!

Ill ~~~~~~t1~l~!~ BROWN & came to a mushroom cloud on the

GOLD srn1PEs weekend was some of those magic ones Easly must have eaten

on Sunday night. The girls had three games this week but

couldn't quite get close enough in any grade. Still they had fun. The awards were A Grade mug to Jodie Holland, the B Grade to Karen Wild and the C Grade to Nicole Kelly.

The U1 Bs had the game in their keeping until the final minutes going down by the barest of margins. A fair bit of hard work and luck is now needed to make the finals. The awards were: the McDonalds voucher to voucher to Mark Gorham. The Argweld socks went to Hot Dog and the Coke to Curl.

The 2nds were again short (I'm going to wear this broken record out) and again relied on the U1 Bs backing up. The ones who turned up tried their guts out but Davy Crockett had more of a chance at the Alimo. The awards: mug to Cuthy, Cornell petrol to Nicho and the Carlovers to Paul McPherson.

The 1 sts story was a repeat of the U18s, grabbing the lead then letting it slip away in the dying minutes. Those sort of games would nbe enough to turn Mother Theresa to the bottle. The awards: mug and William Farrer to Easly, Eagle Boys to Ziebs, and the Star Kebab to Sucky.

This Saturday night is the Ball. It's a dinner dance format with semi-formal gear. 3 course sit down meal and entertainment by Foot Full of Bindis. Congrats to Kriste Carroll on representing us in the Miss RFL quest. Congrats also to Baulchy on being appointed to another 12 months of living hell (sorry, coaching).

Finally, keep Sunday, August 27 free for the vote count at Gumly. This week Temora with a little bit more desire there is no reason why we can't knock them off. UP THE HAWKS.

Commiserations to the 1 sts on being beaten by the North Wagga Saints last week. Perhaps the only highlight of the match could have been the much deserved report of one Dick Carey, with none other than Ponter being on the

receiving end of a "bunch of fives"_ The match was a top game to watch, although

we seem to squander a little with the ball. Hats off to all players for their effort, especially to Glen Hartwig, who played exceptionally well , and to first gamer Scotty Sinclair who played his first game of 1 sts with many more to come I would say!

Our award winners for last week were "players player" Ken Fairman (who also gained B.O.G. votes overall), the B.F.B. award to a 'living legend' and professional backman Leslie Bruce Thompson; the cash to young Glenda Hartwig who battled extremely hard for four quarters, and the Laurie Matthews award to Mick Morton (who failed to arrive at 'Gilchrist Manor' last Saturday night).

It's certainly great to see that our local produce showed everyone that they can play good football.

The 2nds lost, which has definitely ended their finals chances. Playing well were Brad Hart, the always prominent Paula Derrick, with young Scott McCormack in the thick of things as well!

The main highlight of the magnificent day (weatherwise) was the strong win by our U1 Bs team1

Netball president Jenny McKelvie reports some more top wins, by our young ladies. Ket's keep the momentum up girls.

To this weeks round against the East Wagga Hawks. Certainly they won't be easy beats, but our 1 sts MUST make sure this is a victory, and maybe our 2nds and U18s can record some other fine wins.

Remember boys that 'patience is the companion of wisdom'. Good luck. (RBF)

Dennis Walsh winning the Bowling Club award and Nadines dinner for two. The Ganmain Store towel went to Jari Nielsen, and the socks to Robert Kember.

The Under 18s also fell in by a point with a determined last quarter, even though the Hawks did their best to win, slipping their first grade No. 1 ruck on at half time, but to no avail. Scott Crozier won the Club towel, Luke Cruikshank, the Four Hotels award and the socks to Shane Hatty.

Commiserations to our U 11 s who put up a great effort but just went down in their grand final. Congratulations to the various B & F winners: U 15s was Gavin Lenon, r/u Shaun Rava; U1 3s Nathan Irvine, r/u Nathan 'Poke' McPherson; U11 s Jason Smith, r/u Mitchell 'Magpie' Steele. Committeemen don't forget the working bee next Friday (August 25) to prepare the ground for the finals. The paper mustn't have much to write about when they start writing gossip columns about this club and Carey as coach.

This week we visit Goanna country for the first time for an official game, where a win is a must.

The C Grade netballers had a good percentage boosting win 56-2 with an alround team effort. Sheena Kelly won the mug with great shooting. B Grade played well winning 31 -18 with the Carroll girls having a ripper, whilst Kristy Brill won the mug. A Grade also won 33-23 and have to keep it up to stay in the four. :v Our football sides certainly had a day out against Collingullie Ashmont last weekend with all three grades having comfortable wins. With this winning form improving every week and the

wHtTE. RED v improved attitude on the training track the rewards are coming and will continue to get greater as the season draws towards the finals. This week we play Tigers and it will be a great indicator of how the sides have improved since we last met.

The U18's reversed the first round loss to Collingullie and came away with a good win. The Area News incentive award winners were Bill Furner $20, Norm Campbell $15 and Adam Sara $1 0 with Matt Olney and Steve Serafin worth a mention.

The Second Grade have now accomplished one of Jokers aims for the seaon and that was to win half the number of games played with

Three big wins last week against the Hoppers as well as in the netball. The 1sts put in together in patches with Coolamon well and truly having a dig in the first and last quarter.

BLACK . T.D. certainly stamped his YELLOW SASH impression on the game with

another top effort. Unfortunately Corey Backing's season is now under a cloud after being carried from the field in the first quarter.

The top award was unanimous with Grant Regan taking the Wagga Motors Award. The Bridge Steakhouse also was obvious with Danny Jaques. Jason Morton was as always ever present and collected the Warehouse Award. The Walker Chemicals towel went to Andrew Pries.

The 2nds did won and how! 1 The Mark Anthony award was well deserved by Bruce Willett. Richard Blake who has been knocking on the door collected the Birdnest award. Mark Limbrick backing up from the 18's put in a solid effort and earnt himself the Raine & Horne Towel. The Car Lovers Carwash went to the player with the dirtiest car this week captain John Shultz. The Condon Flyaway award (yet to be used I believe) went to John Bently who I guarantee will take advantage of the opportunity and use itll

The 1 B's had a big win. The boys and coach Goof deserve a pat on the back for their sportsmanship. Those who were at the game will know exactly what I'm talking about. The Lowry and Howick Awards

It was nice to see the sun and a firm track for a change and

- three wins at Narrandera. The U 18s while short on

numbers put up a good effort to win the game and keep in the hunt for top spot. Brad Byrnes won the Auto One award Chris

Organ the jumper and David Pike the socks in an encouraging team effort.

The 2nds as in previous weeks were forced to come from behind but again were equal to the task, winning well in the end. Captain Scratcha and Nashy were a bit the worse for wear after the game as a result of a accidental head clash but should be stitched up and rearing to go this week. Dashy was great all day and collected the Mug. Steve Stapleton was solid as a rock in the backline and won the betting Voucher while Craig Rod ham enjoyed the open spaces on the wing won the Car Wash.

The 1 sts loomed as a real danger game against the Eagles who played well early but Turvey just seemed to make more of their opportunities to eventually record a comfortable win. King Wally would not let anyone else play with his ball to gain top votes Troy Maiden looks to be finding touch again, Guy Weideman, Tony Stratton and Dale Lewington were others to gain votes.

The netballers had mixed results losing the juniors 47-9. C grade had a draw 18 all, Carol

Today is the last round of home-and-away games in the 1995 Mercantile Mutual Farrer League competition . After today only eight teams ... four in Seniors and four in Reserves ... will continue their quest for Premiership Flags. Although, in many ways, the competition has been "lop-sided", to say the least, the composition of the final fours in both the grades, will not be known until the final sirens sound today.

In the Seniors, the match at Ardlethan is the all important one. In fact it could be said that the Reserves game also has some significance, as, if Ard le than can pull off a major upset victory over Ariah Park-Mirool, the latter could miss their finals berth. But, back to the Seniors. The local derby is sure to attract a large gathering of spectators as Ariah Park-Mirool throw all they've got at Ardlethan in a desperate bid to snatch fourth place from Cootamundra, who , themselves, can do nothing to better their position, as they have the bye today. The "Brown Bombers" will recall that when last they met, they had a thirteen point win over the Stars, in a game where they really had to "stand up and be counted" following successive losses to

Kapooka, and as a consequence, they .have brought themselves level, on points, with fourthplaced Cootamundra , but still behind on percentages. Therefore, only a win will be good enough for Ariah Park-Mirool to contest next Saturday's first semi-final; and , whilst they beat Ardlethan last time , today they have to try to

beat them at Ardlethan. Only one team in the League has managed to do that this year .. . competition leaders, Marrar, in the opening round of the season!'

In the Reserves, South Wagga-Tolland, currently fifth, sit one win behind Cootamundra and Ariah Park-Mirool , but with a better percentage than both . Their way into the finals is by means of a victory over the Rivcoll Bushpigs, a victory they enjoyed first time round, and should do so again . Provided the "upset" spoken of earlier in the article , doesn't occur atArdlethan, it should be an Ariah ParkMirool versus South Wagga-Tolland Reserves' first semi-final at Temora.

So the curtain draws on the first year of the Murrumbidgee Valley Football Association . Already rumours are rile of teams in this League disbanding next year. Only Cootamundra, of the former Division Two clubs have managed to be competitive with the former Division One clubs in the Senior competition , and they have only managed to beat one of those former One teams. What's the answer?? Is it once more, back to a threetiered situation? Will amalgamations be the answer? Only time will tell. Regardless, let's hope that the players and supporters of teams which don 't make the finals series continue to support their League by attending the finals games of the 1995 season to be played over the next four Saturdays, culminating in the Grand Final at Robertson Oval on Saturday, September 16.

Two weeks ago we ventured out to The Rock, where we were well and truly beaten in three of our four encounters. Our one bright spot was again thanks to the 'A' grade Netballers, who for the second time

RED. in as many weeks defeated one of BLACK SHOULDERS the top four teams. This time it was

The Rock-Yerong Creek, who we temporarily dislodged from the important fourth ~lace on the points table. Unfortunately, it looks like percentage (or lack of it) is going to decide our fate. Best players on the day were Jade Hodgins, who won the "Mug", Karen Mackinnon took home the Chocolates, and Louise Beard picked up the Flex-it voucher for her efforts. Again, the 'B' grade team gave their all, with awards going to Michelle Dash (Mug), Ria Palframan (Chocolates) and Sheryl Robinson (Tolland Squash voucher).

The "Magoos" tackled the Magpies with high hopes of "bringing home the bacon", but such was not to be the case. After a reasonable start, we faded away, and probably copped our biggest loss for the season. The ubiquitous Phil "Nob" Errington was the "Mug" winner yet again, whilst other awards were shared by Tim Sweet, Shane Frearson, Joey Price, Rod Bruce and Robbie Carroll. The "Ones" had just as dismal a day, being well out-played by the opposition. Awards went to Darryl Hillier ("Mug"), Graham Cheney (Tolland Squ_ash ~oucher), Damian Black (Flex-it voucher), Craig Windsor (Thomas Blarney dinner), Scott Hugler (Chocolates) and Russell Hillier (the Peking House Restaurant award).

Tomorrow night, of course, is the League's Best and Fairest count and presentation night at the Wagga Leagues Club. If you're still after a ticket, please let "Jock'' know today. The evening starts at 7.00pm and we thank Kellie Lynch for agreeing to be the Dons' entrant in the Farrer League "Girl of the Year'' quest.

Today is our last day for the season, as far as t~e Seni~rs_ are concerned. It has been a fairly drsappomttng year for our Ones, especially following last year's premiership. Nevertheless, thanks_ to all those Ones who have given of their best this year. Thanks, too, to the coaching staff of "Pencil", "Buckets" and "Mal" (or, Brian Robinson Craig Windsor and Mal Hillier to identify the~ properly). After being a first-year premiership coach, Brian has experienced the "other side" of being a footy coach, this year. He's indicated he'll

be retiring and we thank him and his "better half' , Sheryl, for their outstanding contributions to South Wagga-Tolland over the years.

For the "Twos" there's, hopefully, more footy after today. Last week Marrar did us a favour .... today,we must play our part and beat the Bushpigs, giving us a berth in the first semi-final next Saturday. A win is all we need, but it sure would be better for our future hopes if it was a convincing win!!

Regardless of events on the field, we are required to do the catering for Grand Final day at Robertson Oval on September 16. Many workers are needed, so please don't be backward in coming forward to volunteer!! Our Presentation Night is at the Thomas Blarney on Friday, September 22. Admission is $20.00, and we would hope that all are in attendance, for the vote countcum-presentation evening.

OJ It was set up perfectly really,

a perfect day, a huge crowd and a top side sitting there waiting to be upset by a rampaging Bushpig outfit. Six hours, 2 grades and 303 points to the

RErr~i'itJTE ~e9ative later, T.R.-Y.C. penciled In Job well done and left Peter

Hastie Oval rather contented . It was always going to be tough against the

accomplished Magpies, their Reserve Grade the minor Premiers, and Seniors sitting second on the table.

The Magoos were competitive for the first half of their match, however a final half onslaught from The Rock-Yerong Creek made the scoreboard look rather one-sided, the final damage being 152 points.

For Rivcoll good players were difficult to find, Steve Kramer being the pick for a four quarter effort in the ruck. Craig Sinden was good in defence, while the pocket rocket, the boot scooter, the Kings Cross Casanova Robin B_audv!lle was in and out of everything, d1splay1ng some excellent ball handling skills. Don Wilson was also a solid contributor.

The first grade was a similar story, with a super league club playing bully over an ARL team, belting us by 151 points. At least we have one thing money can't buy - poverty.

Best for the Pigs were big Cliff Royle, little Sean Nesbit and old Gary Kew. Young Gerrard O'Leary was also a consistent player, while fat Rowan Hall snagged 4 goals to be our only forward. His flying act in the second term sent the crowd into hysterics, and also proved white men shouldn't jump.

It was indeed interesting to see Jock Currie sneaking around the boundary at Piggie Park Saturday. I'm sure some valuable notes would have been taken on how to dismantle the awesome Bushpig machine. If your going to follow the Magpie example, first spend a zillion dollars. The four points could be yours.

Some good news for the day was the Sows B Grade, who cemented a place in the semi finals with a comfortable win . A Grade again came second. Good luck for the future girls.

B Grade play Ardlethan at Temora next S_aturday, so jump on the bus and s_upport the girls.

"Man O Man" was a success, I think. Can't remember but apparently the nerd poet Luke Malloy made the most hearts flutter. A couple of mysteries from the night - How much did Hacka's nose hurt when the pie hit it, and where did the shirts and hats disappear to?

They'll look a little out of place at The Rock, won't they?

Today is a fairly important day, with a number of players pulling on the pig colours for the final

time. A big effort is required to farewell those players in a fitting manner. i.e. a win would be enjoyable .

A date for presentation night has been set, that being October 14th . See your club executive for more details.

Well, it's a battle of two Super, sorry 'Social League' clubs . Let's show those who have down graded our Club that we can be competitive. Footy is for everyone to play, and the last thing this area needs is an elitest competition at the expense of grass roots footy, you have no breeding ground for potential champions. Perhaps those who are suggesting that RAAF, Army, SWT and Rivcoll should play in some unorganised social league should have a good hard look at themselves. These are clubs with proud traditions, and deserve better than the current speculation. The MVAFA was designed to make footy prosper in this region. I don't think killing four clubs is advantageous.

Now that gripe is off my chest, let's play footy.lf you can 't win, don't play.

GO PIGS!!

II-I Last weeks trip to the open spaces of Bushpig Park was

certainly a first for those who haven't played there before. The wide open spaces really made it a unique experience. If the big

BLACK & WHITE ground didn't bugger you, the trip srRIPEs up Willians Hill at the completion

did. The Firsts, after they got used to the

surroundings, had a comfortable win. There are still a couple of spots up fro grabs so things will be very competitive from here on in. Award winners were: The Rock Butchery mug to Paul Noack; Sizzler salad bar to Jimmy Jones; Riv Spraying Service towel to Lewis Winter. The W & J Taylor amateur award voting went: $50 to marcus Kreutzberger, $30 to Dave Carroll and $20 to Brett Whyman.

The 2nds had somewhat of a canter but they too have a couple of positions wide open. If it comes to the crunch and you miss out • don't chuck a willy and throw it in. Get to training and make those that have made it earn their spot. Award winners were Libbys Takeaway mug to Dean Hallam; the Porky & Verdo mug to Paul Hallam; $10 each to Leigh Collins and Robert King. The Murphys Cafe went to Mark Chaplin.

A Grade netballers won 28-26 with Danni Sonneman winning the mug. B Grade lost 21-27 with Gin Auld winning the mug.

Social scene: League medal count tomorrow night. Those who have requested tickets get them and pay for them, from Sandman today. The club B & F count will be on Sunday, Sept 3 at the clubrooms. It will be combined with the netballers with a BBQ lunch. All welcome.

Those people who haven't returned their Super Raffle will be barred from any further functions. Seriously, please return them today as they have to be mailed to Sydney.

Let's start the week by reminding everyone that our vote count is on at the London tonight after the game against Ariah Park. Get there, it's sure to be an interesting night, with

GoLD no clear cut favourites in either RED sHouLDERs grade. The club is having a

Street Stall on the 25th August and any donation of saleable goods would be greatly appreciated . ~II players ~nd supporters are also invited to a Pig on the Spit at the Londo~ on the 27th August (1 pm), after the 1 syt Semi Final. To wrap up our introduction , the club would like to wish Meaghan Morns all the best in the Miss Farrer Princess competition to be held at the League Votecount. .

The 1 sts started and finished slowly, but still managed to find time to kick goals in the 2nd & 3rd quarters, then there were BLEEPS in high jumper Tim Forsyth's post event speech at the World Championships last week. Votegetters in the Rod Mac Award were 5 Peter "Di Ya back It" Sculley, 4 Tony "Did Ya see that Ump?"_ Kelly, 3 Michael "No Scull I Didn't" Button, 2 M1c~ael "So Easy Campese" George , 1 Ke1r~n "Wineman" Spencer. In Netball, I don ' t have any spec1f1c information about scores and awards, but I do know that both A and B grades recorded good wins, and are keenly fine tu~ing the~r re~pective games in a bid to play a maior part 1n th_1s years final series. Best of luck this week ladies .

This week we take on Ariah Park in do or die matches in both grades. They will come out pumped up for big games, so let's hit them hard early, and show them that they ~on't e~en get a sniff of victory on our turf. Lets run into some good form leading into the finals .

Today the Marrar Bombers at our place, with a full side we may be able to restrict them in some way. They are having an excellent season and are undefeated. They will expect to have a training run against us ready for the finals. Well, is will not be a

training run for us as we intend to take it up to them all day. We have nothing to lose, except our pride. We intend to make our final game for 1995 something to remember in both grades. If we all put in 100 % all day we could cause a major upset. Let's have a go.

UKAFC take this opportunity to wish all participants the best of luck for the finals which has shaped up to be a promising and competitive final series. To our Rosella's we must now wait for next season knowing that we are to be more professional, dedicated and committed in our approach to our games and that starts with training together. We now know the standard required, so lets work on it. Lastly, we take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors for all they have done over the season. Thankyou all, I personally wish to thank Oxford Printery for being able to read my scrawl each week and put it into print, thankyou!!

Remember, don't back down & don't give up ..

Well both teams managed to give the Blues the "blues" last week but not without a bit of resistance. The Magoos kicked away to record a big win and

BLACK.RED sAsH avenge their first round loss in a mudbath at Coota. Buster led a rousing rendition of the club song and managed to assur~ the continuation of the deep affinity Marrar & Coota hold with each other.

Others to sing & play well were Twitty - the Mug , Mick Walker got the Dinner for two & Hages got the stubbies.

The Tony Hughes' led Bombers continued their unbeaten stretch after beating Cootamundra. Award winners were: Brad McGerry, Frankie Corbett, Terry Willis & CB.

A point of interest which was pointed out by some older players & supporters was the sight of Arab strolling across the ground whilst Ronnie Milthorpe was seen running up towards the far end of the ground.

This writer was also disappointed with the Non Appearance of Pip Black who is an exciting player to watch & also who is an exciting player to watch & also manages to extol the virtues of alcohol like no other.

There is a fellow called Frank, Who play's footy like he's a tank, He's tough & he's bold in shorts never cold, & sometimes a bit of a wank. What a finish for the netballers last week. A

hughe win over a undermanned Coota side 100-2 in A Grade. Award winners Leanne Mathew the mug and Kellie Harrington the encouragement. All three grades will play in the 2nd semi. Well done girls and good luck. Note the FFL netball league vote count is on Sunday, August 27 at Marrar, 12.30 pm. Our lotto winner was Kellie Pattison.

This week the Rosella's, so lets start fine tuning & come away with two good wins.
