    About the location & development

    The location

    Chelmsford is the county town of Essex and issteeped in history. With a history dating back to

    Neolithic times, the Romans and to the Saxons

    this town has everything you would expect from

    such a heritage. It is truly a jewel in the centre of

    rolling countryside. The town boasts two popular

    shopping centres, The Meadows and Riverside

    and also many high street shops including Marks

    and Spencer, Debenhams, Next and Boots.

    For dining out, the town has an eclectic mix

    of restaurants including Caf Rouge and ASK

    and others specialising in international cuisines.

    There is a wealth of vibrant cafes and bars. For

    arts and culture, the town has two excellent

    theatres, The Cramphorn and The Civic with

    programmes offering varied entertainment. For

    leisure activities there are indoor and outdoor

    swimming pools, a fitness centre and an ice rink.

    There are also a number of parks and riverside

    walks alongside the River Can that flows through

    the centre of the town. The town is also served

    by two golf clubs and is famously the home of

    Essex County Cricket Club.

    For schooling, there is a good choice of primary

    and secondary state schools namely Melbourne

    Park Primary, Lawford Meads Junior School,

    St. Peters College and Chelmsford College.

    There is also private schooling at Chelmsford County

    High School and King Edward VI Grammar School.

    links, with a London mainline station and trains

    to Liverpool Street Station taking approximately

    35 minutes. Road links are excellent with the

    A12 only a few miles away and the M11 is 16

    miles away and connects to the M25. For flights,
