SPANISH GOLDEN AGE SEASON
9 January – 15 March 2014
THREE GREAT PLAYS, ONE ENSEMBLE
Don Gil of theGreen BreechesA delight. Don Gil is a farce that makes other plays of the genre lookpositively staid; the plots and subplots zip along at breakneck speed, and the production is uproariously funny under Mehmet Ergen’s faultlessdirection – Bath Chronicle
A Lady of Little SenseWonderfully lively... David Johnston’s zippy new translation... A stunningsong-and-dance set-piece helps to establish a magical mood – The Times
Punishment Without Revenge An essential evening – Guardian
No English director is a better advocate for the glories of
Spanish Golden Age drama than Laurence Boswell ... Darkly glitteringand deeply engrossing ... Highly recommended – Independent
