2. Mount the option PCB (OPCII-MS5-SY) to the new inverter (Main and Sub).

Ex) PCB switch on the main side.

Set all slide switches on option PCB

to M side for main and S side for sub.

Prepare option PCB and a spacer

screw. (Spacer screw [TSB5.5-8])

Fit the spacer screw to the position A on the

inverter.

Fix option PCB onto the inverter with screws (at 3

positions).

3. Disconnect the obsolete inverter (5000M3) wiring to remove it (Main and Sub).

・Connection of thermistor signal

Connect the thermistor signal (main 7,8 / sub

562,563) and the ring terminal of the relay

cable [HF5G7882].

Attach the insulation cap (sleeve) .

Put the connected part into the sleeve.

(3) Connecting relay cables to the currently-installed cables ・Connect A to the currently-installed cable connector CN2B.

*.For sub inverter, remove the cable which has so far been connected with the main inverter CN1B and connect it to the sub inverter CN1B.

・Connect A' to the currently-installed cable connector CN2A. *.For sub inverter, remove the cable which has so far been connected with the main inverter

CN1A and connect it to the sub inverter CN1A. ・Connect B to the currently-installed cable connector CN1. ・Connect D to the currently-installed cable connector (CN3 for main, CN2 for sub). ・Connect C to the currently-installed cables (main; wire No. 90 & 91, sub; wire No. 26-1 & 27-1). ・Connect E to the currently-installed cable connector CN4 of the sub inverter.

(4) Connecting the above F to the connector CN10 for both of main and sub inverters Note: Link cables which have been connected with the main inverter CN5 and the sub inverter

CN3 for 5000M3 are no longer needed. 6. Check the wiring status again and if any abnormality is not found, turn the power ON.

4. CONTROL 1. Parameter setting (1) Parameter setting procedure

Canceling protect (P000=0) ① Press the UP (or DOWN) key while pressing the MODE key to display P000. ② When P000 appears, release the MODE and UP (or DOWN) keys. ③ The monitor displays the data “1” for 4 seconds 1 second after the keys released.

* The monitor returns to C000 when 4 seconds elapses. Press the MODE key once again to display the data.

④ Press the DOWN key to change the data to “0” within the 4 seconds from the data display. * The data “0” starts blinking.

⑤ Press the SET key to save the data within the 4 seconds from the data change. * The monitor instantly changes the data “0” to “SAVE” and returns to the “0” indication

(turns lit).

Displaying parameters P201~P228 (P200=1) ① Press the UP (or DOWN) key while pressing the MODE key to display P200. ② When P200 appears, release the MODE and UP (or DOWN) keys. ③ The monitor displays the data “0” for 4 seconds 1 second after the keys released.

* The monitor displays P200 again when 4 seconds elapses. Press the MODE key once again to display the data.

④ Press the UP key to change the data to “1” within the 4 seconds from the data display. * The data “1” starts blinking.

⑤ Press the SET key to save the data within the 4 seconds from the data change. * The monitor instantly changes the data “1” to “SAVE” and returns to the “1” indication

(turns lit). Likewise, set the P300 and P400 to “1” respectively.

Changing parameter settings (Refer to the item (2) below)

① Press the UP (or DOWN) keys while pressing the MODE key to display the desired code. ② When the desired code appears, release the MODE and UP (or DOWN) keys. ③ The monitor displays the data for 4 seconds 1 second after the keys released.

* The monitor displays the code again when 4 seconds elapses. Press the MODE key once again to display the data.

④ Press the UP (or DOWN) key to change the data within the 4 seconds from the data display.

* The changed data starts blinking. ⑤ Press the SET key to save the data within the 4 seconds from the data change.

* The monitor instantly changes the data to “SAVE” and returns to the data indication (turns lit).

Note 1. When you have not pressed the SET key, the machine operates with the changed data until

the power is turned OFF, however, the parameters will return to the previous data when restarting the machine.

Note 2. If you cannot cancel the inverter alarm status due to wrong parameter settings, perform

default setting in the following procedure. ① Press the MODE and SET keys at the same time. ② Set the parameter P000 data “1” to “0” by pressing the DOWN key, and press the SET

key to save the data “0”. ③ Set the parameter P901 data “0" to “1” by pressing the UP key, and press the SET key

to save the data “1”. Then default setting starts. After the default setting is finished, the data “1” will automatically return to “0”.

④ Change the parameter settings for SR-16/20. ⑤ Reset the parameter P000 data “0” to “1” by pressing the UP key, and press the SET

key to save the data to “1”.

In case those values differ from the above values, input the above ones. * Input 1.00 in the P065 and P066.

2. Adjustment

Adjusting rotation speed Adjust rotation speed properly by decreasing/increasing the parameter P001 setting value. Note 1. To enable parameter rewriting, set the P000 to “0” firstly. Note 2. Make sure to press the SET switch every after inputting the parameter value. Note 3. Adjust rotation speed so that the sub spindle speed is always faster than the main

spindle by 5 to 20 rpm in the same command speed. Ex.) In case of S3000 command; main spindle = 3000rpm, sub spindle = 3010rpm

Adjusting orientation stop position (1) Command M50 in MDI mode (on HEAD 1 for main spindle, and on HEAD 2 for sub

spindle). (2) In case the index pin was inserted straight to the index gear root, go to the step (9). In case the index pin was inserted to the index gear root at the off-center angle, go to the

step (3). In case the index pin came in contact with the index gear head and was not inserted to it

(in case of retrying), go to the step (6). In case, the spindle rotates to the zero position but the index pin was not inserted to the

index gear root (in case of retrying), Increase the parameter P221 and P222 data by about 50% respectively and start the

steps from (1). (3) Set the parameter P206 data “0” to “1”.

* By doing this, automatic adjustment starts to set this position to the zero position (displacement will be set automatically in the parameter P205), and then the parameter “1” will return to "0” automatically when the adjustment finishes.

(4) After commanding M59, adjust the spindle position by turning it manually and command M50 again.

(5) Check that the index pin is inserted straight to the index gear root and go to the step (9). (6) Set the parameter P205 data “0000” to “0050” (about 7 degree of shift), command M59,

adjust the spindle position by turning it manually, and command M50. (7) Check that the index pin is inserted to the index gear root at the off-center angle. (8) Repeat the steps from (3) to (5). (9) Command M50 to M58 and check that the index pin is inserted to properly. When all are checked as OK, then this procedure is completed. In case the spindle rotates to the commanded angle but the index pin is not inserted (in

case of retrying), go to the step (10). (10) Increase the parameter P221 and P222 data by about 50% respectively and repeat the

step (9). Note 1. To enable parameter rewriting, set the P000 to “0” firstly. Then, set the P200 to “1” (to display parameter P201 to P228). Note 2. In case the motor vibrates at orientation motion, decrease the parameter P217

setting value.

Note 3. Make sure to put the SET switch every after inputting the parameter setting value. Note 4. When the parameter P217 setting value is increased, the spindle mortion becomes

faster at around stop position. In case of hunting at the time of stopping, decrease the setting value. Note 5. When you feel orientation motion speed is too fast, decrease the P209 setting value. Note 6. For other orientation motion adjustments, refer to the documents for replacement.

3. Precautions

In this specification, when orientation command is executed during the main spindle rotation, the spindle rotation pauses before angle indexing. (When the parameter P805 is set not to stop the spindle rotation, the output of the orientation completion signal will be delayed, and as a result of that, the machining time will become longer conversely.)
