INTRODUCTION TO SPEED DOORS Speed doors are specially designed for intense industrial use. Thanks to the fast opening and closing operation, they reduce air draft, energy loss and make traffic easier. All this makes purchasing this type of doors a very good investment. Speed doors are made of a metallic self-supporting structure, a canvas curtain that raises and an electric system to activate the operation.

The structure is made of two reinforced side rails and of one platform where is located the axle with a drum to raise or to lower the canvas curtain.

The curtain is made of a flexible material, with reinforcements, that varies depending on needs

and/or door system. The electric lifting system is made of a motor reducer, electrical box that controls it and all

activation and safety systems. There are two versions of these doors:

- Elevation by folding up the canvas, patented model INSTANT PASS ®, mainly for outdoor applications, or otherwise for big dimensions doors.

- Elevation by rolling up the canvas, model INSTANT ROLL ®, mainly for indoor applications.

There is a third version, inspired by the Instant Roll, called Mini Roll, mainly used for indoor

applications of small sizes.

MINI ROLL DOOR FEATURES DOOR DESCRIPTION: The Mini Roll door is small size speed door, with vertical operation and roll up type, with a self- supporting structure, specially created for indoor applications, to separate premises such as supermarkets. This door is specially designed to maintain temperatures within controlled temperatures rooms or refrigerated areas (0º or positive temperatures).

The opening and closing system consists of rolling up the canvas in a drum. In case of impact, the curtain will come out of its rails. To get the curtain back into the rails, the curtain needs to be raised to its total height, and when lowering again, the curtain will come back into the rails. - Maximum dimensions: W = 3000 mm. – H = 3000 mm. - Lintel requirements: 420 mm. STRUCTURE FEATURES: Self-supporting beam structure, that does not require fixation to the work, but simple reinforcement angles. Made of a crossbeam on the top part, with a lead to access the rolling axle and two side rails, in extruded aluminum with white nylon profiles in its interior that acts as guides of the side rollers for the curtain.

It can be delivered in different finishes: galvanized, painted with polyurethane paint of two components (RAL choosen by customer) and in stainless steel (except for the side rails delivered in aluminum).

Its rigid construction and reinforcements permit to fix the different traction elements. The motor reducer group and the transmission shaft are mounted on the top crossbeam. The axle is made of an extruded aluminum drum, specially designed for that purpose.

CANVAS FEATURES:

The canvas is made of high resistance plastic, resistant to abrasion and to decoloration. It is made of a polyester textile impregnated of PVC composite; the result is an extremely resistant canvas. It has a series of transversal reinforcements, (metal band of 50x1), that provide the needed resistance to air pressure. The bottom socle is made with a 50x10 rail, an insulation shell and a round of ∅ 16. With this type of socle we achieve a perfect adjustment to the floor, even when irregular floor conditions.

The door can optionally have vision windows in transparent PVC. This material is resistant to sun radiation, thanks to an integrated UV filter. All welding, even the ones with the vision windows, are made with frequency welding method.

Canvas are available in different colors. (RAL). CANVAS FEATURES Polyester support impregnated with PVC 1100 x 1100 Dtex. IP CONTROL BOX – IR series STD.

- PRODUCT: Design and manufactured by PORBISA, in compliance with the current safety and electrical low voltage protection regulations.

- DESCRIPTION: The IP-IR series STD control box has been designed to operate automatic

doors, with three phases 380V and 220V motor operators, and with power not to exceed 5,5 HP, protected by a thermal tripole switch. It has been designed for fast activation doors, of intensive and/or timely use, with the use of contacts. It is specially made for Instant Pass, Instant Roll and Mini Roll models, in each of their versions.

Its safety circuit, with electric photocell, when activating allows for stopping any closing operation and reverse it. This operation will reinitiate the timing system once the door fully opened. When the door is open and the safety system activated, it will not allow to initiate the closing operation. The control box has an emergency stop button (P2). It also has a lighted push button for the manoeuver and to reinitiate the system. The circuit of the control box supports the utilization of different systems to initiate the opening manoeuver, either through loop induction detector (DM), remote control transmitters with receiver via radio, or otherwise with radars for movement detection. It can also support electric photocells.

SAFETY SYSTEM: Mini Roll is equipped with an electric photocell installed in one of its rails. This photocell sends an infrared beam modulated and polarized. A catadioptric mirror installed on the other opposite rail returns the beam towards the receiver. In the event the beam is interfered, the door will stop and immediately revert the operation. It is connected to the control box in a positive safety mode. An additional photocell can be installed in order to increase safety for personnel (Option). Additionally in case of power failure, the door can be operated with a crank. OPTIONS:

- Stainless steel structure AISI 304, with control box in PVC for the food and agriculture

industry. - Fully transparent PVC curtain - Counterweight to raise automatically the curtain in case of unlocking the electric brake of the

motor operator. - Motor protection can be mounted for door to be installed in exteriors or otherwise located in

aggressive environments.

UTILIZATION SYSTEM Activation systems may be by push button, remote control transmitter, induction loop detector, radar, ceiling pull cord... When giving an impulse to the activation system, the door would open until reaching its maximum opening. The top stop is performed by mechanical limit switches. The curtain will remain at the top during a period of time that has been adjusted by a timer. The timing is reset every time a new impulse, or object interferes with the beam of the photocell. Once the set time elapsed, the curtain will lower. Note: If an object comes across the beam or otherwise the photocell is not properly aligned, se door will remain opened.

EMERGENCY MANUAL MANOEUVER In case of emergency manoeuver, shut down the electrical input to the control box. Remove the crank from its support, insert it into the axle at the bottom part of the motor operator, disengage the brake and raise the curtain. Once the curtain has been raised engage again the brake. (Read instructions on label placed close to the lever. IMPORTANT: - It is imperative that no one, during emergency manoeuver stays under the door. VERY IMPORTANT: - Once finalized the emergency manoeuver, the crank should be placed back into its support. The door will not operate otherwise. The crank is held together with a magnetic contact connected to the control box and to activation systems. Two reasons, safety and to have always the crank available in case of need to manually operate the door. In cases of doors larger than 12m2, two persons are required to perform this operation.

This label is located on the side rail of the door, placed under the disengagement lever, VERY IMPORTANT TO READ CAREFULLY THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE

MAINTENANCE The maintenance required for the Instant Roll speed doors is minimum.. They only require a periodic check up every once in a while. Main aspects to be considered are: CURTAIN : Should be washed with water and soap or otherwise with jet spray. DO NOT use aggressive products, detergents, solvents or acids. The taunt and shape of the rail cables should be checked every 6 months. FIXATION ELEMENTS : Check the fixations to the work once a year. If the door receives impacts, fixation elements should be checked immediately. TRANSMISSION ELEMENTS : The side bearing wheels have to be checked once a year, the coupling (motor chain, in case it is a front mounted operator) have to be checked every 6 months. Coupling has to be replaced in case the adjustment is not tight. MOTOR REDUCER : Check the motor reducer once a year. In case of over heating check the oil level. ACTIVATION ELEMENTS : Check every year the radars. If you use ceiling pulling cords, check them every 6 months. SAFETY ELEMENTS : Those elements have to be checked every 6 months. In case of impacts to the door check them immediately.

TROUBLESHOOTING Repairing a door has to be done by specialized personnel with necessary knowledge about its components (mechanics, electricity, electronics). When facing an operating problem, you will have to know how to interpret two basic points , first the position of the door at the moment of the problem taking place, and secondly have to read the LEDs on the PL/PLE logic circuit board. Any manoeuver that the door might perform (except in case of power failure) is described on the PLE board in the control box.
