Certification Testimonials

Why did I decide to obtain my HR certification?

To remain on the leading edge of my field. The certification and ongoing recertification add validation to the level of expertise I possess. The credentials after my name state that I am a self-assured executive and role model. It has been eight years since earning my SPHR credentials, and I have not regretted my choice.

I found myself out of a job for the first time in my life. I interviewed for a particular position three times and was certain it was mine. Ultimately, I did not get the job and discovered it was because the other “front runner” was a certified HR professional. At that moment, I vowed that losing a potential position due to the lack of HR certification would never happen to me again. Earning my SPHR has brought about a formal credibility factor that I never experienced before. After obtaining my SPHR, I was promoted twice in three years, and I attribute this greatly to attaining my SPHR credentials.

HRology101 FAQsHow is the HRology method different than the SHRM Leaning System?

HRology101 takes a Kaplan based approach – our number #1 goal is helping you to pass the exam by focusing

on questions, test strategies and memory recall drills. HRology101 zones in on giving you only the concepts

and knowledge you will need for the exam.

The SHRM Learning System provides a more didactic approach to providing information and imparting

detailed knowledge which can be very overwhelming due to the extraneous amount of material covered.

Do I need to have a degree in HR to take the course?

Although an HR degree is helpful, it is not required for the course or the exam. Taking the HRology course is

the only prep you will need for the exam.

How much time should I spend studying? How much time should I spend studying?

A minimum of 70 hours of preparation for the exam is recommended, although some candidates will need

more time (or less) depending on their individual backgrounds and experience. The HRology 6-week course

provides 18 hours of focused in-class preparation. For each hour spent in class, students should expect to

study at least 2 hours outside of class.

Should I take both the 6-week course and the 2-day Crash course?

Definitely! The 6-week course is there to help you learn the material you will need for the exam, while the

Crash Course serves as the capstone to test your exam readiness. All material in the Crash Course is

completely different from the 6-week course.
