Cautionary Tales For Chi ldrenBased on the verse by Hilaire Belloc. Adapted by Claudia O’Doherty, Mark Jones and Chris Kohn.A lyrical satirical cabaret at which you may lose your head entirely! Meet our dysfunctional musical troupe of four, who have travelled to our stage via a time machine. They’re on a mission to teach today’s rascally kids a thing or two about the importance of being well-behaved, and are armed with Hilaire Belloc’s poems about wayward children and the outlandish fates that befall them. Created for audiences aged 8 and above, the delightful family production Cautionary Tales for Children is proof that learning lessons about good behaviour has never been so quite so absurd and hilarious at the same time. SundownerImagine this...It is becoming increasingly difficult to discern the difference between the present and the past, between what is familiar and what is foreign. Events that took place just minutes ago are being constantly erased, while memories that you have been able to keep at bay for decades now come rushing towards you. This breathtaking performance, starring Helen Morse, Jackie Rees, Timothy Ohl, Michelle Heaven, Craig Bary with the Tivoli Lovelies, traverses sorrow, fears and human dignity. Through the eyes of three generations, Sundowner tells the story of so many Australian families. If our parent is no longer the person we know, how can we care for them in the present and also honour their memory? Sundowner is a story of love: love of family, love of history, and love of life. Presented by Rockhampton Regional Council. Part of the 2013 See It Live Theatre Season.
