Day 2 Bentota – Galle – Bentota

Visit Turtle Farm at Kosgoda

Kosgoda is famous for its turtle hatchery- operated by the Wild Life Protec�on Society of Sri Lanka.Can see huge tanks filled with new born turtle hatchlings. A�er being fed, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2-4 days old, usually during the safer hours of darkness. Although October to April is the main laying season, some eggs can be found at Kosgoda throughout the year.

Madu River

Maduganga is situated in Balapi�ya, along the country’s southern coast, within the Galle District of the southern Province of Sri Lanka. It opens to the Indian Ocean Madu lagoon is a very wide and a beau�ful lagoon in Sri Lanka. It is in the wet zone of srilanka with a high bio-diversity. Boats will ride under short tunnel, which is made out of mangrove. You can see many birds and animals that are living in this aqua�c environment.

Visit Galle Dutch fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Galle Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, and then extensively for�fied by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards. It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument, which even a�er more than 423 years maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruc�on work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. The fort has a colourful history, and today has a mul�-ethnic and mul�-religious popula�on. The Sri Lankan government and many Dutch people who s�ll own some of the proper�es inside the fort are looking at making this one of the modern wonders of the world. The heritage value of the fort has been recognized by the UNESCO and the site has been inscribed as a cultural heritage UNESCO World Heritage Site under criteria iv, for its unique exposi�on of "an urban ensemble which illustrates the interac�on of European architecture and South Asian tradi�ons from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

Mar�n Wickramasinghe House & Folk Museum

This interes�ng museum includes the house where respected Sinhalese author Mar�n Wickramasinghe (1890–1976) was born (the tradi�onal southern structure dates back 200 years and has some Dutch architectural influences). Exhibits are well displayed, with informa�on in English, with a good sec�on on dance (including costumes and instruments), puppets, kolam (masked dance-drama) masks (including one of a very sunburnt Bri�sh officer), carriages and Buddhist artefacts.

Day 3 Bentota – Nuwara Eliya (210 kms 6hrs Drive)

NuwaraEliya meaning "city of light", is a town in the central highlands of Sri Lanka with a p i c t u res q u e la n d s ca p e a n d temperate climate. It has a Sub Tropical Highland climate. The average annual temperature varies between 11-20 C° and the recorded lowest temperature is 0.4 C° and the recorded highest temperature is 27.7 C°.NuwaraEliya, also known as ‘Li�le’ England’, was the favorite hill sta�on of the Bri�sh who tried to create the resort into a typical English Village.

Visit Sita Amman Temple

The Sita Amman Temple, located halfway between the highland village of Sita-eliya and the Hakgala Botanical Gardens, has become the most venerated of all Ramayana Trail sites in Sri Lanka, because it is believed to be the place where Sita lived most of the �me of her cap�vity on the island of Lanka. A�er she refused to stay in Ravana's magnificent palace, she was transferred to Ashok Va�ka or Ashokavanam where she lived under Ashoka trees. It was here that Ravana's wife Mandodari visited her and that Hanuman met her for the first �me, iden�fying himself with the ring (finger) of Rama. Sita is said to have bathed in the nearby stream. There are remarkable holes in the rocks at the river bank believed to be footprints of Lord Hanuman.

Day 4 NuwaraEliya – Ramobda – Nuwara Eliya (28 kms 1 hrs Drive)

Visit the Ramboda Falls Waterfall.

Ramboda Falls is 109 m (358 �) highand 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th highest waterfall in the world. It is situated in Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass.[3] It formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of KothmaleOya. Al�tude of the falls is 945 m (3,100 �) above sea level.

The Sri Lankan branch of the Chinmaya mission, commi�ed to promo�ng the R a m aya n a p h i l o s o p hy a s we l l a s Ramayana Trail pilgrimages, has built a temple with Hanuman as a presiding deity in Ramboda between Kandy and Nuwara-eliya main road. There is a 5 meters tall granite statue of Rama's devote supporter Hanuman. He is believed to have started his search for Sita in the Baroda hills. The word “Single Tree” has been in existence from �me immemorial. An excellent view of the sun rise can be seen from the top of this mountain. Situated 6890 � above meansea level and takes about 90 minutes to reach the top. Single Tree hill is the best vantage point to observe the beauty of NuwaraEliya and

the beauty of Haggala Mountain range. Single Tree Mountain unravels the spectacular views of the en�re NuwaraEliya Town including other mountains such as Piduruthalagala and Haggala mountains. A�er trekking through tea planta�ons one reaches the top where there is just 1 single tree. This is the 7th highest mountain in Sri Lanka and is easily accessible. If one gets to the top around 5.30 a.m. – 7.00 a.m or In the evening A�er 3.00 p.m one can see the best cloud forma�ons around Sri Lanka and also the reflec�on of the mountain through Gregory Lake. On a very clear day one can see Piduruthalagala Mountain(Pedro Mountain), Lovers leap falls, Lake Gregory and urban areas of NuwaraEliya in the northern valley and the southern valley of Adam’s Peak, Seven Virgin Hills, conical Hill and UdaRadellamountains.

Day 6 Kandy – Colombo (135 kms/3 hrs 50 Minutes)

Sri DaladaMaligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient �mes, the relic has played an important role in local poli�cs because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Sitemainly due to the temple.

On Your Way Pinnawala Elephant OrphanageP i n n awa l a E l e p h a nt O r p h a n a ge wa s established in 1975. And it is an orphanage, nursery and cap�ve breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village, 13 km (8.1 mi) northwest of Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. Pinnawala is notable for having the largest

herd of cap�ve elephants in the world. In 2011, there were 88 elephants, including 37 males and 51 females from 3 genera�ons, living in Pinnawala. The orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protec�on too many of the orphaned unweaned wild elephants found wandering in and near the forests of Sri Lanka.

Visit the Spice Garden

During Past history Sri Lanka known as Taprobane, was world renowned for its Quality Spices. During ancient �mes the Greeks, Romans and the Arabic maintained their links with Sri Lanka through the spice trade. In the 16th century Ceylon, as it was then k n o w n , w a s d i s c o v e r e d b y Portuguese who soon began trading in cinnamon and other spices. The Dutch and Bri�sh followed bringing with them their own history and influences, forming a strong Western presence which created a history of food expressed with spices which can be tasted in the dishes today. Spices are an essen�al element of the cuisine of Sri Lanka and the Ayurvedic tradi�on and a visit to a garden specializes in the cul�va�on of these substances and an excellent way for purposes of new uses of certain ingredients that perhaps though they knew well. Find cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, cardamom and black pepper, to name a few. Europeans can buy the products in their natural state or in the form of oils and po�ons that are used by Ayurvedic medicine, during the Dutch, very famous spices of Sri Lanka and we export to different countries. That has earned the country the name of "Island of the spices”.
