Spraying water on the adhesive side as one peels away the backing, makes the laminate easier to handle so that it is not so sticky.

Applying the Unisolar PVL Laminate is much easier using this technique, especially in very hot climates. Very little experience is needed to apply the PVL to the Universal aluminum pan.

This mock-up shows how simple it is to integrate the Unisolar PVL solar laminates with true Tuscan style barrel tile roofing. A minimum of one layer Rex Synfelt by AlphaProtech is tin capped to the wood deck. The Unisolar PVL’s and clay barrel roof tiles are then adhered to the deck using PolyFoam adhesive. The underlayment is a synthetic woven polypropylene that has a ASTM D-1970 testing for self sealability. This product is awesome and is totally “GREEN” as it is not made from any petroleum products!

Although the Unisolar PVL product is very rugged in worst case scenarios like the one depicted in these installation photos, we recommend that care be given always to use a protective covering over the Unisolar PVL Laminates so as not to damage them in any way.

Because the Unisolar PVL works with diffused light , one can dedicate this type of solar installation to the less visible areas of the roof line.

This Tile Integrated Photovoltaic (T.I.P.V.) solution reduces costs of labor and materials.

Because the solar thin film sits below the profile of the surrounding barrel tile, the solar becomes less invasive and seems to melt into the roof tile aesthetic. The elegance of the Artezanos Hybrid System is that it can be used with any manufactured barrel tile in the World!

Even the use of a less efficient thin film solar technologies is justifiable because they occupy more space on the roof, thereby offsetting costs due to roof tile purchase and decreased labor intensity.
