Today’s Psalm Response
Lord, make us turn to you, let us see your face and we shall be saved. (Psalm 80)
Our Adult Faith Word, Eucharist, Life
Fourth Sunday of Advent
Bethlehem, the village too small to be counted among the towns of Judah. In the words of Micah
he sees the future coming of a messiah
one mighty and powerful
but by God’s terms
in a town reckoned unimportant
in Israel
Mary who saw herself
as a humble servant was not too small
for God’s way of entering the world
We seem too small to allow
for the entry of the Holy One
into our midst as one of us
In God’s way the Lord of all
became small in human flesh
for all of humanity
By reenacting the paschal mystery
in Eucharist
we encounter the simple elements
of Communion with the Holy One
to remind us of God’s way
of coming into the history
of our times
This encounter calls us
to give whatever small part
grace brings forth
to establish peace for
a world of trouble and struggle
Luke 1 Micah 5 Psalm 80
Hebrews 10
Year-End Giving It is a custom of some to make special donations to St. Patrick's Church in the time between Thanks-
giving and December 31st. Besides the thoughtfulness of these persons, one other reason for these special do-nations may be for IRS tax credit for 2018.
Please keep St. Patrick's in mind as we come to the end of the year!
Deacon Frank Williams will preach this Sunday during the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Masses.

Welcome the Stranger!
Imagine what it is like to be a stranger. For those who call this parish home, Christmas is a chance to welcome the stranger, to be the good innkeeper. Who knows? The welcome you extend to the infrequent Mass-goer might be what brings that person into our community. And next year, you both will be welcoming a new stranger together.
When you attend Christmas Mass in the coming days, keep an eye out for a stranger looking for a seat. Be the family who makes room for strangers.
Have You Ever Thought About Becoming a Catholic?
If you've never been baptized and are thinking about seeking baptism, or if you've been baptized in another Christian communion and thought about becoming Catholic, or if you are already Catholic but have been away for a while, and are interested in coming “home,” we extend a heartfelt invitation to explore the Catholic faith. Please contact Father Val, [email protected] or Ro O'Sullivan, Pastoral Assistant, [email protected] 901-857-1987.
