My dear family of St. Andrew the Apostle!
Each year it is the Pastor’s responsibility to provide you with information on our Parish’s financial standing. Below you can review the Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2015-16 ending June 30, 2016, prepared by our Business Manager, Dn. Ron Searls, 815-886-4165 ext. 302. Please take some time to look it over. There is a lot of GOOD NEWS! Let me highlight that due to better stewardship (watching expenses like a hawk), better school tuition collection ($70,000 more than previous year), and your continued generosity, we were able to decrease the debt to the Diocese which stands currently at $49,000.00!!! This is incredible! In addition, we were able to replenish the Foundation for the Future funds by $64,657.00 from Sunday income as you can see below! Please prayerfully discern your ability to help with debt reduction so we’ll finally get out of debt soon (this Christmas or this year?!) by offering an increase in your time, talent and financial support. Thank you for your continuing support of our parish ministries and our St. Andrew the Apostle Parish family, and we continue to depend on your greater generosity!
In Jesus, God’s most generous gift, Fr. Gregor

…neighbor helping neighbor... Our helpline 815-886-4165 ext. 304
All calls are confidential with callbacks within 24 hours.
Weariness, persistence, tenacity, stubbornness and stick-to-itiveness are things we can all relate and connect to with little difficulty. In this gospel it is the widow’s persistence that eventually wins her justice.
Because God is just and concerned for the rights of the downtrodden, persistent prayer always leads to justice. It is sometimes difficult to set aside a definite time for prayer; during the day it may seem all but
impossible. Realizing God is present even in our busyness. The place and manner of prayer aren’t nearly so important as the fact that we pray—“always and without ceasing
If you or someone you know needs temporary assistance please call our helpline.

Letter from Bishop R. Daniel Conlon in regard to World Mission Sunday
My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, “Mercy Changes the World!”
On World Mission Sunday, October 23, Pope Francis invites each of us to be part of that change for our world of great need, calls us to announce the mercy of God, “the beating heart of the Gospel” (Misericordiae Vultus, 12).
On this 90th World Mission Sunday, our diocesan family joins our brothers and sisters around the world who will gather at the Lord’s Table to celebrate, with great joy, our common vocation as missionaries. Our prayers and financial help, through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, support the work of the Mission Church, its witness to Christ and service to the poor.
“Let us not close our hearts within our own particular concerns, but let us open them to all of humanity.” Message for World Mission Sunday, 2016
I echo these words of our Holy Father, asking you to open your hearts as you connect on World Mission Sunday with every corner of the globe… with the Americas, where catechists travel to remote areas to bring the Good News of God’s great love to families; with Europe, where new churches are being built to welcome faith communities, renewed after years of persecution; with Asia, where six million children receive an education from Religious Sisters in some 16,000 Church-run elementary schools; with the Pacific Islands, where 1,000 young men are preparing for the priesthood, to bring the Lord’s healing hope and peace to those in need; with Africa, where those who are sick are provided with loving care at 6,400 Catholic hospitals and small clinics.
And don’t forget the corners of the globe where the Diocese of Joliet serves. Your support helps us to continue our missionary work in the Philippines, in Bolivia, in Africa and in the Navajo nation. Each year hundreds of adults and young people donate two weeks of their time and talent to connect with other people in diverse cultures and live their vocation as missionary disciples.
Grateful always for your generosity of spirit and heart, and confident of your missionary commitment to share the joy of the Gospel and help the poor, I pray for blessings for you and your families!
Faithfully yours in the Lord, Most Reverend R. Daniel Conlon, Bishop of Joliet

Help the SAS Student Council collect items for UNDY SUNDAY
Most people take things like underwear for granted. At Catholic Charities, they have found that low-income families and seniors living on poverty-level incomes do not spend money on underwear and they desperately need it.
This year, the SAS student council will be helping collect donations for the 14th Annual Undy Sunday. We are asking for NEW underwear, undershirts, socks, and diapers for children and adults. Collection will be held in the hallway outside the Church on Saturday and Sunday, October 15 & 16, after all Masses. Please place your donations in the designated boxes. During school hours, The donation boxes are located by the school office and in front of the church. We will be collecting them until Friday, October 21. All sizes are needed. Thank you for your support!

GRANT ETERNAL REST, LIGHT AND PEACE TO ALL FAITHFUL DEPARTED: Lupe Rodriguez, Patrick Crain
Please call the parish office by Monday at (815) 886-4165 for the name of your loved one to be placed for 3 weeks on our short term prayer list. Also, please call the parish office, if you are hospitalized and would like a visit from our hospital minis-try team or homebound and in need of communion.
Hospital Visitation of Parishioners Please remember that if you or any family members find yourselves in a hospital, be sure to let them know you are a parishioner at St. Andrew’s — it doesn’t hurt to say it a few times, either! Whenever we priests, deacons or Eucharistic Ministers come to visit, we check the hospital list of parishioners printed under “St. Andrew.” But if you’re not listed as a parishioner of St. Andrew, we won’t know you’re even there! We do not want to miss you! You can always call us, too, at the office, ext. 301. Thank you. May the Lord Jesus be with you all your days, to love and be loved by Him, to honor and serve Him, as He honors and serves us!

SACRAMENTS OF INITIATION CATECHUMENATE
The Catechumenate is a community which gathers those adults who have not been baptized, and seek deeper insight into the Christian faith.
BAPTISM OF CHILDREN We joyfully celebrate the baptism of children of Christian households which are joined to our weekly worship, and have active registration in our parish community for at least 3 months. After registration in the parish, please attend an Evening of Awareness, if you have not attended a class in the past two years, to register for Baptism and select a date. Classes are presented on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Baptism is celebrated on the third Sunday of the month at 1:30 p.m.
EUCHARIST AND CONFIRMATION Formation for those coming first to the table of the Lord as children is infused into the efforts of our school and Faith Formation Office. Confirmation formation is a two year process completed in eighth grade. Please call the Faith Formation Office for more information.
SACRAMENTS OF COMMITMENT MARRIAGE
