From Our Pastor’s Desk Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Happy Easter to all !!!!!
As you know the Easter Season lasts 50 days, until Pentecost. Why ???
Because it is as if it was one great Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord. Jesus Resurrection
changes everything. Jesus Resurrection is a proof that he has the power over death and life. If
we die with him we shall also rise with him as Saint Paul says it. This is our celebration of the
eternal life that is to come for all those who believe in Christ. Let the Joy of Christ' resurrection
permeate all the aspects of our lives, let it enlighten the most dark moments of our lives,
specially the darkness of sin and death. What hurts us most in this life is transformed by Christ
into our sanctification and salvation. All those moments of darkness, pain and death, see the
light of resurrection, and the transformation into the eternal feast of heaven with all our loved ones who went before us. By rising
from the dead, Christ makes all things new.
We have seen all this in the making as we assisted Christ through the Holy Week, from Palm Sunday celebration of Jesus
glorious entry to Jerusalem, through Holy Thursday as Jesus washed the feet of the Apostles, and Good Friday as He was
condemned and crucified and laid in the tomb, through waiting of the Holy Saturday where at the Easter Vigil we assisted the rise
of Christ light from the new fire and the Paschal Candle lit for us high to see Jesus’ glory to come out of the darkness of grave,
and to the morning of Easter Sunday when the empty tomb was found and Christ in his splendor of new life was finding the
Disciples and Apostles in places where they were awaiting the consequences of Good Friday. The glory of the resurrection chang-
es everything. It changes totally the perspective on life and death, it transforms our lives. It gives new meaning and perspective on
everything that happens in our lives. It is the beginning of our eternal life if we know how to die to our self. It is the happiness
that knows no end.
Happy Easter to all !!!!!
This Sunday is Dine Mercy Sunday, indicating to us how to get to the happiness of Resurrection from wherever we
stand. The road to the joy of Resurrection is through Divine Mercy. If we need forgiveness of our sins ??? It comes from Jesus
merciful open heart, just we need to turn to him. If we are hurt and we want to be healed and happy we need to forgive, so we
want to give those persons and situations to the Divine Mercy to let go of hurts and be free to love and enjoy the beauty of
salvation. Jesus I trust in You !!!!!! Teach me how to entrust to you all that I carry in my heart and so be free to love you as I
should.
I want to thank everyone for your hard work to get us where we are. Especially we need to recognize Marge, Kathy, our
Deacons, Sue with all her musicians and singers, Bertha with all the Religious Education Staff and Volunteers, Wayne & Carmen
and those in our RCIA Formation Program, our sacristy help, volunteers for cleaning and decorating with Charlie and Jose, Palm
stripping volunteers, Michael and all cleanup professionals, receptionist and altar-servers, actors for Way of the Cross, and park-
ing lot assistants, Usher's and Eucharistic Ministers, our Priests and Janet with our Outreach Staff, soup kitchen volunteers and all
who in anyway contributed to making all of our celebrations go smooth and beautiful. May God be praised in all we do, may
God's glory be our reward and purpose. I'm proud of all who received the Easter Sacraments for showing us the beauty of our
faith, and I thank all those who participated in all those celebrations for making it special by your prayer and witness of faith. I
thank all for your generosity to our parish, may the Good Lord repay you hundred times over your generosity and kindness. Let 's
continue to worship and glorify the Lord with our lives.
We made improvements of our parking lots and pathways, and we will continue to improve parking lighting and
connecting our parking with that of the Knights of Columbus by passage way for mutual use of our parking lots. We cleaned the
cesspools that supposed to drain the rain water into the drainage system and to the ground. We are making a bathroom in the
sacristy of the chapel by the offices, and we will make a bathroom in the Outreach Office after this one is complete. Please
consider contributing towards those projects according to your possibilities. God is good to the cheerful giver so be the one as you
are blessed already. Thanks for your generosity and support.
God bless everyone !!!!
Happy and healthy Easter Season to all !!!
Happy Divine Mercy Sunday!!!! Don't forget we have adoration of the Blessed Sacrament this afternoon from 2:30 to 3:30 as
the Hour of Mercy, please come and join us !!!

Bishop Barres offers support for families and communities:
FECHA: 18 de abril, 2017 RE: Reciente Violencia de Pandillas DE: Muy Rev. John O. Barres, Obispo, Diócesis of Rockville Centre

Bishop Barres offers support for families and communities:
“Prays that all parishes "continues to be places of
comfort, healing and hope for those beset by all
forms of violence." Statement issued April 18, 2017:
During Holy Week we all learned of the deaths of four
young men when their bodies were found in a wooded
area in Central Islip by law enforcement. Reports are
these young men died as a result of gang violence. These
senseless deaths are the latest examples of what has
become a horrific plague of violence against innocent
human life across Long Island and most recently, the
communities of Brentwood and East Islip.
We, the 1.6 million Catholics on Long Island stand in
solidarity and prayerful support with the Tigre,
Llivicurra, Banegas and Villalobos families who are now
grieving. The Catholic Church of the Diocese of Rockville
Centre stands with you as we express our belief in the
dignity of each and every human person and the sanctity
of every human live and every family. Today, we pray for
these families who have lost loved ones to the culture of
death expressed in gang violence.
This Easter season, we implore Father, Son and Holy
Spirit to bring the comfort and healing of the risen Lord
to the families and communities torn apart by this inexpli-
cable violence. We pray that our parish communities –
the Parish of St. Joseph the Worker here in East
Patchogue, the Parish of Saint John of God, in Central
Islip, along with the 131 other parishes of this diocese
continue to be places of comfort, healing and hope for
those beset by all forms of violence.
