BAPTISM: Baptism is celebrated on the first and third Sunday of the month at 1:30 pm (usually). There is a required Baptism class for the parents to attend prior to the baptism. Please contact the parish office to make arrangements. MARRIAGE: Engaged couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance. Diocesan regulations require a marriage preparation program for all couples. Ask for a parish policy brochure at the parish office. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAMS: The parish religious education programs, grades 1-8, help bring about God’s kingdom by proclaiming and teaching God’s word, celebrating the sacraments, and placing value on service to all people. Call the office for more details. DEVOTIONS: Miraculous Medal: All are welcome to attend following the Monday 9:00 am Mass. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament: First Fridays 3:00-8:00 pm; Holy Hour/Benediction 7:00-8:00 pm. Rosary: Recited each morning before the 6:30 am Mass and following the 9:00 am Mass. Stations of the Cross: Fridays in Lent 7:30 pm.

Tithing is 5% of income; Stewardship is your decision in prayer. Please notify the parish office if you are changing your address or phone number so that we may have accurate records! This registration is our only means of certifying anyone as a member of our parish family, especially for Baptism and Confirmation sponsorship letters and for scheduling baptisms or weddings.

this is the ministry for you. No teaching experience necessary. You will be guided and supported by the DRE throughout the year.

ADULT FAITH FORMATION PRESENTATION On Wednesday morning, September 12 at 10 AM the Adult Faith Formation team will present COMPARING GLUTTONY AND HEALTHY EATING in the Zoeller Center (church basement). We will explore how we can honor God’s creation by enjoying quality food in appropriate quanti-ties. Join us in a discussion on the selection of foods in a supermarket as well as a restaurant. Not only can we improve our life style but perhaps impact our children and grandchildren as

Over the next six weeks Father Bill’s homilies will be a “message series” entitled “THE NEXT S.T.E.P.S. In today’s gospel Jesus invites us to FOLLOW HIM. To follow Jesus is to be a disciple. In the church today to be a disciple is to do it INTENTIONALLY. In order to follow Him we must take it one step at a time. We will explore the acronym S.T.E.P.S and see that what Christ in-vites us to is: S –Serve in Ministry, T - Tithing or Giving, E – Engage with others in small groups, P – Practice of Prayer and Sacraments, S – Sharing our Faith. Like a child taking one step at a time until he is fully grown so we are asked to take ONE STEP AT A TIME. During the next few
weeks OPEN YOUR HEART, OPEN YOUR LIFE and see what the next step is that will make you a more INTENTIONAL DISCIPLE.

SOCIAL ACTION UPDATES To all of our amazing parishioners and volunteers who supported the Moving Forward Program by donating and/or delivering household goods, thank you so very much! We are humbled by and grateful for the outpouring of gener-
osity from each of you. We collected almost 1,000 items during the month of July and have delivered them to the Center’s warehouse in Valley Cottage. The program coordinator expressed her sincerest gratitude for the kindness
you have shown and wished you could see the smiles on the faces of the people who have and will receive your dona-tions. Know that you have truly made a difference for so many trying to regain a sense of normalcy in their lives.
A very special thanks to all those who came to the Zoeller Center on Sunday, August 19th to offer the gift of life through a blood donation and all of the volunteers who gave of their time. Summer is always a crucial time for blood donations and currently there is an extreme shortage. From your selfless act of kindness, we were able to collect 44
units of blood, creating 132 “doses of medicine” that will go on to touch the lives of many patients and their families!
