Dear Parent/ Guardian, September was a very busy and exciting month! Our students have adjusted very well to the new school year and we thank our staff and you, the parents, for your constant support. The turn out for curriculum night was once again excellent and serves as a clear indication that the partnership between home and school is fundamental here at St. Dominic Savio School. I encourage you to continue to be involved in the education of your children. We celebrated our Thanksgiving Mass on September 30th. We thank Father Micah and Father Frances and look forward to their continued spiritual guid- ance. Other events in September included: CSAC Elections, WE DAY, and our first Eco Assembly (―Save the Trees‖). We were also proud to field Boys and Girls Flag Football teams this year. Both teams played very well and both teams came in first place. Well done! Results for the grade 2, 5, and 7 CAT/4 have been sent home. I am pleased to report that the overall scores were consistently above the national percen- tile. Our Grade 3 and 6 EQAO results were also sent home. The St. Dominic Savio School scores in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics were once again above Board and Provincial averages. For more information and to view our school report, please visit www.eqao.com . We have scheduled our first Safe School meeting for Monday, October 21 st . If you are interested in joining the Safe School Team, please contact the school office. All parents are welcome. One of the main concerns last year, was the drop off and pick up procedures (particularly the morning drop off). We have noticed significant improvement this year. However, we remind you to not park at the North entrance of the laneway. Again, kindly review the drop off/ pick up procedures (page 3 of your child’s agenda). Your continued coopera- tion is greatly appreciated. Warm Regards, F.
