Prepare the Way of the Lord – This Second Sunday of Advent we hear the call in the Gospel to “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths. Every valley shall be filled and every mountain and hill shall be made low.” This is a

vivid reminder that, as God desires to be with us, so must we work to prepare our hearts and our lives to be places where he desires to dwell and that are fitting for his coming. While this preparation can take on many forms, Saint Luke reminds us of one important way, “repentance for the forgiveness of sins.” As Catholics, we repent of our sins and are forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Advent, the season of preparation, is a perfect time to celebrate this beautiful sacrament and ready our hearts for the coming of the Lord. This Tuesday, December 11th, The Light Is On For You! at parishes across the Diocese of Pittsburgh from 6:00-9:00pm and priests will be available to hear Confessions. No matter how long it has been since you last went, consider taking this opportunity to prepare your heart this Advent.

Wanted: People to venerate Divine Mercy and Love with an hour of prayer. The prayer group meets every Monday at 2:45p.m. in the church. Please call Polly at 724-452-6336 with any questions. Reborn in Christ: The sacrament of Baptism was celebrated for, Dominic Jude Losos, son of David and Andrea Losos and Rhory McNish Rickman, son of Rick and Amy Rickman, last Sunday. Faith Formation News!!!

ADVENT WEEK TWO The mystery of love. The incarnation is the moment in

history when heaven and earth touch and merge together in the person of the Child. To help children to enter into this mystery of love, the Gospel texts which

tell of the events before and after Christ’s birth will offer all of us the key we need to encounter

Christ this Christmas Season. Read as a family the infancy narratives and take time to reflect on “what did you hear?” Who or what does God want us to prepare for? Luke 1 26-38 Luke 1: 39-49, 56 Luke 2: 1-20 Matthew 2:1-12 Luke 2: 21-33, 36-39 In reference to The Good Shepherd & The Child by Sofia Cavalletti
