Suggested Home Learning Timetable

This Half Terms Topic is: Flow

Get your wellies on and let’s wade right in!

This half term, you can visit a local river or find one on the internet to find out what lives there, where the river is going and how fast it’s travelling. If you visit the river, you can collect water and soil samples and catch river creatures. You can examine the samples at home to investigate how clean the water is. Using your creativity, you can write journals as river travellers and journey on an imaginary boat to rivers around the world. You can make working models of water wheels, investigate the water cycle and use natural materials to make models that demonstrate river formation. Your descriptive river poetry will capture the movement of water, and you can mix watercolours to create beautiful paintings in art. Your map reading and research skills will help you to find out about world famous rivers.

At the end of the project, you can create a newsflash to explain what you have learnt. When we are back in school Miss Flack will organise time for all of us to show our newsflashes to the rest of the class!

Week 1: Begin to understand what being a Christian involves. Reflect on what it means for us.

Week 2: Know what Jesus teaches about helping others. Reflect on how we help others.

Week 3: Know how St. Paul had to learn to be a Christian. Think about what we can learn from his experience.

Week 4: Know that the Sacraments are a meeting with Jesus. Be aware that in the Sacraments we receive Jesus’ great love.

Week 5: Know about people who use their gifts to help others. Think about what we can learn from them.
