Rejoice in God’s Mercy: A Hug from God is All You Need!

February 25: Lent Week 2 While Peter tells Jesus “it’s good to be here”, he is also genuinely terrified. The work of a Christian calls for courage, trust and faith. The challenges of Christian living brings us out of complacency and into authentic discipleship where we encounter Christ in one another. Action: Go outside of your comfort zone. Ask the Holy Spirit to identify Christ to you in people you may have overlooked.

"Home Inspector", bring your questions. We are looking forward to having some

fun with our guest this month. She is Karen from the clothing store "Suzanne and Jenny's" in Okotoks. She will share her fashion knowledge of colour trends

DAILY ADORATION

“Have a great love for Jesus in his divine Sacrament of Love; that is the divine oasis of

the desert. It is the heavenly manna of the traveller. It is the HolyArk. It is the life and

Paradise of love on earth.”

-- Peter Julian Eymard

Lent is here! Enrich your spirit and life by

making a commitment to spend quiet time with Jesus.

Adoration is offered in our Chapel Monday to Friday from

6 to 9am and 5 to 7pm. All are welcome to come and sit in

His Presence even for a few moments. A Petition Book

ensures ongoing prayer for your needs.

Committed adorers or occasional substitutes are needed for

the following hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8 to 9am

Friday: 7:30 to 8:30 am & 5 to 6pm & 6 to 7pm

Please contact Renee: (403) 880-5937

March 7th 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday 40 Days For Life Prayer Vigil

Come be a part of the 40 Days for Life Campaign. Pray for the tragedy

of abortion, across the street from the Kensington Clinic where most

abortions are carried out in Calgary. An estimated average of one abor-

tion per hour occurs at this clinic. As St. John Paul II stated we are

called to challenge our “culture of death” which sees destructive

measures of problem solving as valid. Let’s join together for this

prayerful vigil, giving witness to the dignity of human life. To be part

of this prayer vigil, participants must be motivated by love and con-

cern for the mother and child, as well as for the staff, witnessing on

behalf of a seemingly ambivalent human community that their lives

matter to us. Signs held at this vigil must be life affirming and non-

judgemental. Please consider praying in the designated area across

from the Kensington Clinic during this 40 day campaign. Please go to

40 Days For Life Calgary, https://40daysforlife.com/local-campaigns/

calgary/calendar/, or contact Jairo Garzon, 403 870 3905, for more

information. If unable to attend the vigil, praying for respect for un-

born human life wherever you are is the most important element!

Stewardship Reflection February 25, 2018 - 2nd Sunday of Lent

“’Here I am!’ he answered.” - Genesis 22:11

It is easy to say, “Here I am, Lord,” when we are kneeling in church. But how

easy is it to say “Here I am, Lord,” when a neighbor needs our help, when we

are invited to join a parish ministry, or when we are asked to provide financial

support? Often times we are called when it’s not convenient for us.

Discipleship is not always easy, most of the time it will make us

uncomfortable and vulnerable.

The Irish-Canadian Community of Calgary welcomes all members of

Calgary’s Interfaith, their families and friends to the 18th Annual Mass

for Peace on St Patrick’s Day at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March

17th, at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Following the celebration of Mass, a buffet lunch will be served in

the St Mary’s Parish Hall, which will also showcase Irish culture.

Donations of sandwiches, vegetables, fruits, and squares, gratefully accepted.

Please deliver food items before Mass at the Parish Hall. Thank you.

Little Jonnie was coming home from church one Sunday morning with his mother. His mother noticed he had a very serious look on his face.

“What’s on your mind, Jonnie?” she asked. “Is it true what Father said about us all

coming from dust and turning back to dust?” “Yes, it is, Jonnie,” she said. “Why do you ask?” “Well, when we get home,” he answered,

“You better look under my bed, because

someone’s either comin’ or goin’!”
