First Reading: Revelations 7:2-4, 9-14 John recounts for us the details of his vision. An angel bearing the seal of the living God demands that the land and sea not be destroyed; huge crowds stand before the throne of the Lamb crying out that salvation comes from God; angels gathered round and praised God; an elder questions John and explains that those dressed in white are the ones who have survived the great period of trial. Second Reading: 1 John 3:1-3 Once again John speaks to us of love. He points out to us the great love that the Father has for us by allowing us to be called children of God. John explains that the world doesn't recognize us because it never recognized Jesus. Our future will be revealed to us and in that light we shall see him as he is. Gospel: Matthew 5:1-12a When Jesus saw the crowds of people he went up to the mountainside gathered his disciples around him and began to teach them. This lesson in love has come to be known to us as the great "Sermon on the Mount" or "The Beatitudes.”

DONATE LIFE — When you renew your license you’re asked if you are an organ donor. You may wonder why are they asking me and why do they care. In 2019 there were 38,800 fatal accidents in the US and there were 11,900 organ donations from those fatalities giving the gift of LIFE. (www.unos.org)Also you can execute a Durable General Healthcare Power of Attorney and Advanced Medical Directive (the new title for what we used to call a Living Will). You can specify directions of your organ donation. A person can donate specific organs or any needed organs and to include additional specifications such as family, friend, etc. Giving someone their quality of life back, and extending someone’s life is truly a monumental triumph. Further questions can be directed to Kate Roche’ at [email protected]; or Cheryl Colella-Gehrke at [email protected]

  • Novena for Veterans

Our country has been in existence for 244 years. Throughout that time, millions served their country and the world in the armed forces fighting for liberty of all. Let us pray a Novena for all

Veterans from every time, living, deceased and actively serving.

The Novena will start on Tuesday, November 3rd and end on Wednesday, November 11th Veterans day.

The opening prayer will be the Prayer to St. Michael.

St. Michael defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humbly pray and do thou O Prince of Heavenly Host, by the power of

God thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

Then say the Rosary of the day.

    The closing prayer will be:

Father, bless our veterans and all who serve our nation defending our freedom.

For those who bravely gave their lives, grant them eternal rest.

For those who are serving, give them courage.

For those who served, we offer our gratitude.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
