Sung Rosary

The St Juan Diego Music Ministry would like to invite everyone to attend the Sung Rosary. The service will take place Saturday, March 14th at 4pm. This is a wonderful way to pray the Rosary in song and as a community and will lead up to the 5 pm mass. All are welcome.

Please join us for the Stations of the Cross at 6:30pm, followed by a simple supper.

St. Juan Diego Caregivers Ministry Members of the St. Juan Diego caregivers ministry will be available in the narthex following the anointing of the sick mass on March 14-15 to answer questions on the ministry and hand out pamphlets.

Stewardship Moment Second Sunday of Lent

In today’s second reading, Timothy is issued a strong directive: “Bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.” For the early Christians this could mean tor ture and execution. For most Christians today enduring hardship for the Gospel might include accepting ridicule or mockery, or the suggestion that we lack sophistication. Nevertheless, in his letters, Saint Paul is adamant that we should not be ashamed of being followers of Christ. Good stewards are not ashamed of their allegiance to Christ. They do not hide their faith. Reflect on this question: Are you willing to speak about following Christ Jesus no matter who your listeners happen to be?

En la segunda lectura de hoy, Timoteo recibe una fuerte directiva: “Comparte conmigo los sufrimientos por la predicación del Evangelio, sostenido por la fuerza de Dios”. Knights of Columbus Lent Food Drive

The Knight of Columbus will be doing their annual Lenten food drive beginning after Ash Wednesday and continuing through Easter. Items that are in demand include: Cereal, pasta, hamburger helper, rice-a-roni, juice, tuna, canned chicken, canned soup, corn, chili, and canned fruit. Please bring your donations and place them in the Narthex. You may also want to consider a monetary donation. Please write checks out to “Knights of Columbus” then use the yellow envelope, write 'Lenten food drive' on it and then place it in the collection basket.

Social Justice

On Saturday, March 21, St. Juan Diego parishioners can again work on houses at a Habitat for Humanity work site. No experience is necessary and all tasks will be suitable to your comfort level. Get to know other St. Juan Diego parishioners and maybe even a few families who will be living in the homes you will be building. Fifteen volunteers, 16 and over, are welcome on the work site in Beaverton. El Sábado 21 de marzo los feligreses de San Juan Diego pueden participar ayudando a construir casas para la organización Habitat for Humanity para familias de escasos recursos. Baby Corner Baby Corner wishes to thank everyone for the wonderful clothes, blankets, and diapers, etc., donated while the crib was in the church in February. All will soon be given to families in need. If you have further things to donate, you may always drop them at the St Pius X church office Mon-Fri 8:30am -3:00 pm.
